I discoveried the Nokia N800 from their site sometime ago but there aren't big reviews about it? Has anyone used it? Has one thinking buying it? Comments? Thoughts?

Here are something about it:

*800x480 16bit screen with touch sensitive spec (huge plus)
*dual miniSD slots (big plus)
*running on Linux (small minus)
*web cam (small plus)
*build-in opera 8 and flash 7 (big plus)
*some of sort of accesories coming like keyboard (huge plus)
*bluetooth 2.0 and wlan (big plus)
*something like 100mb of ram and 100mb rom (big plus)
*build-in battery 1500mAh (big plus)
*running on 320mhz processor (small plus)
*two stereos (small plus)
*no flip cover for screen protection (big minus)
*has only five way navigator and four buttons (small minus)
*you can't go portrait by default (big minus)
*no phone (huge minus)
*no build-in keyboard (tiny minus)

Conclusion: Very attracting pack but lacking on quite much things.

Oh great... so if there isn't phone on a gadget it is useless??! So are all our gaming gadgets and pdas useless? This iPhone stuff have went too far, let me say. I don't have againts iPhone but I don't care that much on phone cababilities. Any better thoughts about N800? I think it has brilliant screen. Ooh, I have feeling that this thread will be quite dead even from the beginning =/

Looks alright but I'll skip out on this. It seems to be focused on internet so it should have better browsing time but it seems can only surf for about 3.5 hours. Though I like the internet radio and RSS feeder.

But what's the point of having to carry around another device? It doesn't replace Gameboy/PSP, but it does replace the PDA.

Though I like the internet radio and RSS feeder.Yeah, battery life isn't that good even it has 1500 under hood. It seems that they did put too fast processor on it. And if you compare this to psp, it can surf five hours even it has lower battery. Quite nice. PSP would be just so nice to have if it had flip cover, smaller look, build-in pim apps, some docs to go apps and keyboard support. Okay, quite long list but still :D

Yea, I have saw those. Some nice pictures there. But could you get more screen shots? I would personally like too see more what kind of browser it has etc.

But what's the point of having to carry around another device? It doesn't replace Gameboy/PSP, but it does replace the PDA.Naah, I don't know :D But it is cooler have few "medium spec devices" than just one.... As there isn't perfect out there :(

I believe I read that it runs Opera web browser so that isn't too bad for browsing :)

I just bought an N800, at CompUSA, 6 days after its debut as the CES show. This thing is great. Much faster than my well used NZ90 Clie.

The screen quality is no comparison. High resolution, crisp and very bright.

128mb ram, 256mb flash rom, 2 full size SD slots each with a 2gb high speed mem card.

you can have multiple windows and aps arunning at the same time like a windows pc.

Blue tooth connection to my phone to surf the net on t-mobile tooks seconds to set up.

has a built in pdf viewer and you can even surf web sites that are pdf based

accessories are scarce at the moment, but should become more available soon.

OS is Linux based and open source, programs are in developement. some are available now.

accessing my company's online email was effortless and I can send and receive attachements.

having some problems with my aol email, but haven't put too much effort into it yet.

built in web cam for vid conferencing, (haven't tried it yet)

beta program for VoIP available.

only drawback is no camera, but the next phone I want (Nokia N93) will cover that and then some

4 built in games to pass the time on the pooper, chess, marjong, marbles and a tetris like game.

Look for my NZ90s (2) and all the accessories on ebay shortly...
Good Bye Sony!

I just finished doing a review on the Nokia N800 Internet Tablet, after spending about 2 weeks with the product. I hope you guys find the review informative and helpful. If you have any questions about the product let me know.

Just a warning the review is rather lengthy, I tried to add a lot of videos to supplement the review. Enjoy!

There is also a built in FM radio which isn't in the specs. It is usable with a piece of software installed - search Maemo or Google.

There is also MiniMo so basically firefox for sites which Opera can't render properly.

I am waiting for one of these to be delivered.
