Maybe IPhone is the rebirth of Newton? Just think if they gave it the handwriting program that they tried to develope? Don't they still own the rights to some of the ideas in Newton? Then again someone might know more about Linux and can explain why it is a better os in a mobile phone.

What the heck is a feature department? Will it permit long distance phone calls? I very strongly doubt that this option will work like in DSL telephones using vonage.

Keyboard option, also very unlikely yet....but maybe later.

Earplugs (regular size not weird size?) or hands free mono earplugs?

The new connection free recharging the battery option (well not offered yet but they will come sooner or later)

GPS? I guess later but not now....

Thus plenty of features but not all of them beaten ....yet.

It is the remake of the Newton. Even though Jobs swore against making such a device. Note, he never shows the Newton in the product history lineup. He basically skips the time in Apple where Sculley was in charge and only discusses the time he was there. Note the gap between 1984 ~ 2001. LOL. He should have talked about the Newton because it seems it did a lot that no other device could do at the time. At least thats my interpretation of it. I hate that he said "No one uses the music software of these devices" referring to smartphones. I may not have a Treo or Moto Q but I know that my bro uses his Q for music and I use my TX for Music. Such crap he says sometimes.

Sure, they do, but not many people. Most people I know/seen do not use their devices for these purposes.

Do they use the built in music player or a better *cough* pTunes*cough* player. This is soo cool because Apple has made a device where I really don't have to go looking around to replace something built-in. I have a Treo 650 and I hate to use Real Player so I go, spend money on 3rd party music player and get pTunes, same goes with video and..well, don't have to spend money but still have to download TCPMP, with iPhone the Music Player is amazing so is the video player, it looks amazing and it just works. From what I saw on the video everything looks beatiful, even if there were some 3rd party software to enhance the look of the iPhone I don't think I would get it as it just looks amazing right now. Speaking of which, I think I'll be saving my Core Player money now and put it towards iPhone savings fund. :D
