Hello to everyone on the 1SRC forums. It's nice to have a resource for some of this PDA stuff, although lately I've been feeling a bit dubious about my Palm T|X. It seems unusual that all of these add-ons are necessary to keep the device running properly! With such great reviews, and the product having been on the market for so long, I never would have imagined running in to so many problems. If a PDA requires so much regular maintenance, I'm beginning to wonder if this can really be considered a "time-saving device." If the thing fails at all during the day, when you are away from a PC, then it's difficult to trust it.

I've worked out the screen-buzzing, and I'm hoping I've had the last of my hard-resets and re-installation of software. I'm still having one additional issue:

At night I plug my PDA in to have it nice and charged in the morning. I have VersaMail set to automatically download my email and make other updates in the hours before I wake up. If any errors occur and an alert is issued, the PDA screen turns on, and does not turn off on its own. Far too often, the screen has been on for a few hours before I catch it and turn it off manually. Should the screen come on at all during these automated events? Is there a way to make it turn off automatically, even while it's plugged in to the charger?

Thanks for the help.

I don't know the answers to your questions about problem events, but to have your unit turn off while plugged in to the charger, go to Preferences. Select Power. Then, the second line, where it says "On while Charging:" should be changed to Off. It will then time out and sleep on the schedule you've chosen in the first line, "Auto-off after:"
