I live in NYC. I have a Palm TX that I use to surf (s..l..o..w..l..y) via a Bluetooth GPRS conntection to my Tmobile SE T610 cell phone (very old phone).
I've been trying to figure out how I can improve the speed and stay within the SE family of phones.
I've been considering moving to Cingular and getting a W810i which has EDGE capabilities.
My questions are...
Is anyone surfing on thier TX using a high-speed network (EDGE, EVDO, etc.)?
What handset are you using with the TX to do it?

Recently bought a new Samsung a707 SYNC from Cingular to replace my v3 and one of the big jumps is that the new phone uses Cingular's new 3G network. They say DSL speed, but how would you measure it exactly? It is MUCH faster than the RAZR was on GPRS. . .now the problem with tethering my TH55/E to my phone is that the Bluetooth has now become a bottleneck.
Surfing from my TH55 is almost absurd compared to just using the NetFront v3.3 browser from my phone. Googlemaps, e-mail, SMS, anything that doesn't require much input is great on my phone. Sending e-mails works better from my '55 just due to graffiti.
Good luck!

im using a tx/w810i combo
edge surfing with blazer via bluetooth feels like "dial up" speed
i use it sparingly to look up locations when im on the road, and thats about all i use it for

Using a TX with my SE K800i on Smart 3G here in Manila.
www.dslreports.com/mspeed gives me ~ 186Kbps

Hi,
the limiter IMHO is the bluetooth link between Palm and phone. It doesnt exceed 115200 bps AFAIK, which is about 10/sec or 2x the speed of a 56k modem =)l
