Hey guys,

I just got my TX and have transfered and software checked from my Zire 72. Seems to be running ok with one or two niggles. Anyway, using Docs 2 Go, when I'm in a spreadsheet and I try to select cells, the touchscreen is not responsive, then responsive, then not. It is almost impossible to start at the top and select cells that go off the screen. I could do this effortlessly on my zire and the screen would scroll accordingly. I noticed a similar lag when usin Isilo and trying to move the "screen" around with the stylus. Any thoughts? Not life or death but very frustrating when trying to copy sheets or quickly picking out a peice of text.

Thanks for the time and help.

Peace

Could you tell what softwares you are using? There are quite many softwares which slowdown palm os system quite much in the very end. Though you must have quite long list of these softwares which will affect to your screen's respond that much. Or have underclocked it too much? Or maybe there is problem with TX's "hardware" or what is the word, well in other words "technical problem" so you might sent it to palm to repair.

I've seen problems with my touchscreen slowing down overtime, and if I do a zero out reset set (special version of the hard reset), then the touch screen returns to normal responsiveness. It usually takes a few months or more for the screen to quit responding. It's probably one of the apps I use, and that seems to be the only explination, but I haven't figured out which one it is at this point. Its rather frustrating as the screen acts like its loosing calibration, so when I try to recalibrate it, it then gets really messed up and only buttons will work, and then even sometimes they quit.

So i just to the zero out reset and reload all my apps, and hope I backed up regularly (pretty easy with NVBackup.)

Sounds to me like you have a rogue app preloading something on reset. Does the same thing happen if you perform a warm reset (soft reset with up button pressed)?

You might also want to check your application list against one of the TX compatability lists to ensure you don't have any software (check the version number too) that is known to have issues on NVFS (especially TX) devices.

As an alternative, you could install UnCache, disable all apps, and then selectively load stuff you need; if the problem returns, then you have a shortlist of software to disable to see which piece is causing the problem.

Read flyer, "Read This First" that came with TX, especially third green box.

See software compatibility list at palmfocus.com. Remove offenders.

Hey guys,

Thanks so much for the input. The info on the warm reset was great. The problem fixed itself after the warm reset and I started loading programs one by one, checking the response in Docs to go after each one. I think I found the culprit...and have a new problem. The problem occurs if I have the palm wireless keyboard driver turned on! I downloaded the newest version v. 1.13 but it didn't help. Any thoughts?

thanks again

It seems you still have a bad file. I would start from scratch. Hard delete and install just the Isilo. To test these programs alone use different info in Docs to Go to see if it still happens with the cells. If you have a SD card consider files on that as well. It could be coming from anywhere. I use this technique because I have some many files and I need to know if it is the Palm or the file on the palm
