Hi ppl,

Not too sure if this has been highlighted before. I encountered this problem. Currently i am using a HAGIWARA CF256MB card. I have encoded movie using the image converter. After formatting the card in FAT system, i transferred the files onto the CF card, and then mount as MS Masquerading.

First time viewing is fine. I stopped it halfway and try to watch it again at a later time, my nx70 juz hanged... gotta do a soft reset.

Is this my nx70 problem or is it due to the driver?

thanx for any help in advance.

Did you encoded it in "High" quality?
If this is the case, it is a known issue...

try encoding in "normal" or "low" quality...

It was encoded for normal quality. Itz ok now. I have performed a hard reset on my pda and so far so gd. Things are working like a charm... thanx for the reply man.

What do you mean by a hard reset?

I am curious and also concerned over possible confusion of terminology.

Sorry for tat n2ifp, the hard reset i refer to is the one that prompts you whether you want to erase all the data from the pda. I guess i must have too much junk on it to cause this problem.

Okay, then you had to re-install everything. It had to come to light in another thread, that some consider just using the push pin is a hard reset. The problem is that some of us here are trying to think of a solution and not understand why a hard reset didn't work, only to find out it was a soft reset. That is why I questioned it, as most grumble about having to restore everything.

Thank you for the feedback :)!

wow, guess too early to be reading this in the morning, really got my head spinning & confused with this thread.
So it was a hard reset, good note so I better keep my backup updated at all times.
Still dazzled by my new CF driver running with Sandisk 256M, just arrived this morning & only took less than 20mins for the reg code. Sorry I think I'm kinda out of topic here. :D

by the way, that was an unfortunate case where a "simple_thinker" encountered a hard reset resulted from "playing video"?
just curious as soft reset is known issue, but hard reset is another thing right? I mean not part of the issue that is.

sorry guys, as I'm just overly hyped by my CF new driver, still playing around with it. :D

No.

He did a hard reset to clear whatever error he was getting. Memory/RAM is all too easy to corrupt. Never know what crumbs past apps may have left behind from the past.

Hello ,

I was trying to convert a movie ( .mov file , the Matrix Trailer in fact ) ... to put it on my Memory stick
( yes the memorystick .. I can't do anything with my CF driver and my Microdrive :( not even playing mp3 ) ..

The convertion occurs fine ..
When I try to play it in the movie player , the clie is blocked and the progression bar , jump from start to end , and nothing is played ... I only have the solution to make a soft reset .

I have tried all the qualities possible , the result is the same :(

Anyone could help me ... and give me the trick to be able to see converted movies on my clie ???

Thanks in advance

since you're exporting movie to MS then the problem is with the movie trailer (probably copyright protected/Encrypted). Sometime this happens to me too, nothing's wrong with the ImageConverter. Just the movie itself.

To avoid the soft-reset, (this would also help you in the future if the same error occurs), change the MoviePlayer properties (uncheck the repeat playback function), this will avoid the infinite looping of the movie playback.

*.mov so I suppose you have QuickTime Pro 6.
open your *.mov (Matrix Trailer) in QuickTime, then goto export & save as Movie to AVI
Click on the Option
Video settingx choose either the "Cinepak" or the 'IndeoVideo5.1' compression, that usually works.
sound Settings just keep the way it is for now, unless if you have video/audio not insync problem then you can try uncompressed format.

(this is just one of the many methods I've tried myself, hope it works for you)
Do take a note that changing into *.avi format you will get a very BIG file output. but that's just the way it is.

There're other softwares that enable you to adjust the *.mov file so that it will run fine on your Clie. Such as VirtualDub (freeware).

Hopes this works for you. Good Luck! :D

Hello Eddy

Thanks for that marvelous answer .. it really makes the things to progress for me .. but not at 100%

1. I don't have the Export on my Quicktime player.
2. I wanted to use Virtual Dub .. but I really was lost about " how to do it ... " and try to find another program ... found one and it works ( except that the audio is protected and cannot be converted with the AVI )

My questons :
1.
Is VirtualDub really more powerfull ? ( for example to by pass audio protection ? )
Do you have a website with a good tutorial to use VirtualDub

2.
Why don't I have the "export option" ? in my Quicktime ?

Thanks in advance :)

This is because you haven't QuickTime Pro. You need to pay for export function.

Well, I've just started to use VirtualDub myself, a beginner at it so to speak, but it seems to be very user friendly & allows you to choose much more different options with dealing with Video & Audio, (especially when you come into cases where there was no Sound, you can manually input the Sound in *.wav file)

This is what I did when I had to convert a Video File that didn't support the Audio, so what I did was copy a version of the Audio of the original clip into *.wav so then I was able to put the sound back into the the clip. :D
