I think my T|E has 5.2.1 on it. My old Palm IIIc had an OS upgrade on the installation CD. Are there any OS upgrades available for download or purchase?
thx

Nope. TE doesn't have flash ROM. What you have, is what you get..

I'm sorry, but it did have flash ROM.

The RAM and ROM values have been transposed, but the IIIc does have flash ROM>

The use manual didn't mention any flash rom. :(

The user manual leaves some of the more technical information, like flash ROM, and heap memory out. I don't know why.. :( Silly if you ask me.

There wa an OS upgrade- something on the order of 0.0.5 of a version. It was a system file or patch that gets installed when you setup the Palm Desktop.

The update I think you're talking about is the datamanager update. Supposed to squash a bug in the way the PIMs handle their data. On some devices, like the T3, this was also known as the 'datamangler' patch. The T3 suffers horribly from this bug, and the patch only partially fixes the problem. Unfortunately, the patch doesn't do anything for increasing your OS version to 5.4.x, and you gain no further benefits from it.

What does the T3 patch do btw?
I never quite figured out what it does...

Tries to fix the PIM corruption issue. I'm not aware of any other patches. I could be wrong.

Hi,
I installed the patch a few months ago - and all it did was add an extra step to my backup restore process, else the handheld would crash!

I installed the MMC update. I probaby won't need it- I use SD cards. You never know tho. Only 19kb, too

Most Palm updates to pay out in the end...at least IMHO.
I never had a problem with an update I installed on my machines.

The "MMC update" actually was a slot-driver update, so it worked for both SD and MMC cards.
