Help Mac User Install PC Clie Software

Can someone help me out here? Im a Mac guy and not familiar with PC tech aspects.
I'm trying to install Palm Desktop 4.0.1 on a Windows95 machine, but the USB port is not being recognized. When trying to install the only option that comes up is for serial port settings COM1 or COM2. If I select either of those the install fails.
How do I direct it to find the USB port?

USB isn't really supported on Windows 95. It might if you have version "95C" Mostly you need Windows 98 or better, for USB support!
