Does anybody else use SyncNow? I highly recomend it to any SJ user. Combined with Teal Launch you just have to hold a button for a couple of seconds and BAM! you hotsync and go right back to you launcher when it is done.

Wow, that's awesome.. this is close to what I was looking for.. but the kicker here is, can you map it to a button?

If you get Teal launch you can..I have mine set to extended press of the ToDo button. The only thing that I ever hated about my sj30 is that it has not hotsync button but with this combo it is perfect.

I use Single Button Launcher available here:
http://www.palmgear.com/software/showsoftware.cfm?sid=62269020021230190416&prodID=27744
Unlike teal launch it is free.

LOL lazy huh? I call that making better use of your time. I can start a sync and go grab a Pepsi outa the fridge and the sync is done when i get back. hahaha jokes on them..
Hey thanks for the link to the single button thing, now I don't have to feel bad every time I see the nag screen in Teal Launch.

Yeah no problem....it definitely isn't as good as Teal Launch, but you can't beat the price and it does serve the purpose.
I think u can assign upto 5 different programs to each hardware button and u select each program based on the amount of time you depress the button.

I'm using this freeware called "Cradlesnd", which will automatically hotsync your Clie when your plug in the hotsync cable (You must turn on your Clie before plugging in the hotsync cable). Below is the weblink:

Cradlesnd will also let you choose which program to run when you put your Clie in a desktop cradle...I use it to automatically open PocketAquarium or sometimes MegaClock...

Why not use EasyLaunch (a free hack)?
http://makeashorterlink.com/?R29752533
Of course, you still have to press the Hotsync image on the screen after EasyLaunch loads Hotsync, but then again, EasyLaunch is free and does A WHOLE lot more too.

Why not indeed! Works quite well. I use TealLaunch (similar, a little more powerful, and something I paid for early in my PDA learning curve before I discovered free stuff!).
BTW, love these link shortening programs like you used. Hadn't seen the one you used before. I use tinyurl (http://tinyurl.com), the advantage of which is that you go directly to the target page and not an intermediary page. Just FYI. Example:

EasyLaunch rocks.
Actually, you don't need to press the Hotsync icon with EasyLaunch.... rather than programming the HotSync app in "Apps/DA's", select "HotSync Cradle" from the "Other" action menu and the sync starts automatically.

i had tried using easylaunch. I found it very useful at first, but then I realized that it doesn't work properly with the back button and jog wheel. For example, even if you assign no function to the back button, once easy launch is enabled, the back button does nothing.
Assigning the "back" feature to the back button in EasyLaunch is not the same as the native back function.
I also found that for some (though not all) buttons, for example the jogwheel, an extended push, and long push of those buttons doesn't work.
I dumped EasyLaunch because I liked the default features of the jogwheel and back button which I couldn't recreate.

I never assigned anything to the Back and Jog with Easylaunch. I use just buttons (3 apps per button) and some stylus swipes. Never had any problems. Maybe you needed to do a soft reset after disabling EasyLaunch.

Hi guys,
After I bought a third party HOTSYNC cable which has the Hotsync button and USB charger, I love it very much as I do not need to access the ICON to launch the HOTSYNC.
With just the cable plug to my Clie and notebook, then press the button, all done easily.
Before I like the One Button Pro as I could launch many application with any one button. But after I use the Launcher X, it is more user friendly with the page icon where I rarely use the One Button Pro.
I use a hack called Cradlesync. It does one thing and one thing only - when the Palm is off, pressing the power and down arrow together starts a hot-sync. I have used it on both my old Palm iiie and my new Clie SJ20. It works fine with Easylaunch and other "key" hacks I have used. Best of all, it's FREE. Check it out at:
www.niggemyer.com/palm
Although my wife finds the key-press sequence awkward, it does keep me from accidently starting a hotsync!

The software title is "CableSyncHack" instead of Cradlesync, also, the website link no longer works, but you can find a copy at
http://www.freewarepalm.com/utilities/cablesynchack.shtml
Now I am considering either this CableSyncHack or CradleSnd, it seems CableSyncHack works a little convenient for me, but CradleSnd works like magic.

I used and loved CableSyncHack. Unfortunately now I have an OS5 device (TJ35).
CradleSnd's fatal flaw is that it thinks my Stowaway is a cable. Obviously, you don't want to hotsync with a Stowaway.
However the combination of Single Button Launcher (http://www.joat.ca/software/sbl.html) and OneTapSync (http://www.smart-palm.com/onetapsync/index.htm) (free, unlike SyncNow) get the job done nicely -- hold Memo Pad down for more than a second and I sync instead of Memoing.
