Thanks to Santa I now own the Etymotics Ety8 headset.(http://www.etymotic.com/ephp/er88.aspx).
This gift has rekindled my interest in using the Softick audio gateway to watch video content on my TX wirelessly.
I have immediately noticed that both CorePlayer 1.04 and TCPMP .72RC drop a lot of frames when playing video content while the Softick audio gateway is engaged such that the video appears choppy.
This never happens when I use wired headsets with the TX.
My question is...
Who is using his (or her) TX to watch video content via a bluetooth headset?
Of those who are, what additional software are you using to minimize the choppiness?
Any other suggestions to improve the experience?

I'm using the Logitech Bluetooth Headset for MP3 and am having no problems. It does have its own transmitter, which probably offers better performance than the softick solution.

My Plantronics 590A also has a standalone transmitter which works fine too. I'm looking for a solution that minimizes the stuff I have to carry around.

softick app recodes audio to the needed format which take sup processor time which...is taken away from video decoding

So just Overclock!!

Ok...overclocking is the answer....
I guess then I'd be interested in suggestions for Palm overclocking applications that people are successfully using with a TX and a BT headset (using no external adapter) for watching video (minimal video choppiness/dropped frames).
It's really only valuable to me to hear from people overclocking in this specific situation.

if you have one of the earlier TX's it can be overclocked up to 700's and possibly low 800's with WarpSpeed, newer ones are more wimpy and don't go much higher then low 600's

How do you tell the difference?

Can anyone confirm from personal experience that a TX overclocked between 600-800 using WarpSpeed, TCPMP/CorePlayer 1.04, and a BT headset can play video without noticeable dropped frames/video choppiness?

Yes, do tell. :p
I have mine at 520Mhz, and I can't seem to go higher. According to jaPalmMade mine was manufactured August 6, 2006. Which date would be the start of the "later units"?

I use a BTH-820 bluetooth headset to watch videos at the gym every morning. I overclock TCPMP to 585 using warpspeed. Using Audio Gateway as well. There is no choppiness and video quality is quite nice. I mostly watch tv shows that my dvr records and then converts overnight using a FFMPEG script. The only noticeable difference when running in Blue Tooth mode is a slight audio delay, which can be adjusted in TCPMP. I honestly dont even bother though since its very slight.
hope that helps.

eruji--would you please post the exact Warpspeed settings you are using. Everytime I try to use it I get confused by settings options in the interface and give up :(

For TCPMP
BUS: 13 X 18 = 234
CPU:BUS x 5 /2 = 585

My headset (Etymotic Research ETY-8) was lost. I'm getting a repalcement next week. I'll try Warpspeed then and report back...thx.
PS. I noticed that without overclocking if I reduce the audio quality in the Softick audio gateway I get better vodeo performance...
