i am planning to get a license for that category of software. and i dont want the doc 2 go version 8 premium package, becos i just want the simple programme to view and edit word and excel file from the openoffice (not from microsoft office :))
can u suggest any alternative software that reliable n worthy to invest?
thanks.

At the moment there is only one app that can read (only read) OpenDocument files: PalmFiction. But I think Mobisystems Office will support it, too, in the future...

Here is http://www.1src.com/forums/showthread.php?p=962703#post962703 my thread about document applications but I afraid that alegra's reply is true and therefore that I don't know almost anything about Openoffice or even Microsoft office it is hard to comment.
Anyway there are even more list builded by same way as this document applications thread so if you or someone is searching email, document, movie, launcher or instant messenger application they are all here in 1src.
And, btw... if you want you can always send post to doc to go programmer through palmgear about any issue you have. I''m sure that they are glad to get tips and hints what they should work on to the next update.

I too use OpenOffice and AFAIK there are no Palm apps that will read the .odt format. I usually open the document in Open Office and then just save as .xls or .doc and then use the stock Docs2Go that came on my TX - some of the formatting might be a little off but it is usually not too bad. I really wish that someone would add OpenOffice support since it's the only application that truly crosses all platforms (Windows, Mac and Linux)
