Damned mySKin, or fitaly

mySkin is one of the two or three most valuable and trouble-free applications on my TX. And if there is one developer most responsible for allowing me to do what I need to do and want to do with my Palm, Alex Pruss is the one. His stuff is completely reliable in my experience, and innovative too.

I do not know about fitaly virtual. Have you checked to see if fitaly is designed to work with your TX?

I have been using Fitaly and FitalSkinLoad, also by Alex Pruss, for about a year now, and never had a problem. I am actually surprised at how well it works, considering Fitaly is no longer supported for PalmOS.

Fitaly virtual works on the TX. My TX has been stable with it installed since I bought the TX in May. I had stability problems in the past but I've solved those by deleting some third party programs (including TealMaster).

I have used FitalyVirtual and MySkin for the last couple of years both on my T5 (which was WAY more unstable than my TX has been) and my TX without any significant problems. I would suggest investigating memory/cache management options (I have Memunfragment, UDMH and UnCache installed, and pretty much never have resets) or loading FV and MS first then loading your other programs.

Don't give up!

I've been using mySkin/myKbd for months - it's rock solid! Don't blame mySkin for your woes... You've most likely got another app that doesn't want to play nice with the two new apps. Pruss is an awesome developer.

So I hope you've learned a valuable lesson about trialling software - always make a backup first!!! That way if some of the apps don't want to work together they way they should you haven't lost everything.
