After my debacle dropping my CLIE and breaking the screen I'm looking for a PDA case. I'm looking at a couple, and wondering if anyone has had any experiences with them, or if there are any recommendations for cases I haven't listed.
Innopocket Metal Deluxe Case for Sony Clié PEG-T665 (http://www.glblsrc.com/shop/customer/product.php?productid=34&cat=8&page=1)
DSI Pocket Armor (SILVER) for the Sony Clié T665/T650 (http://www.glblsrc.com/shop/customer/product.php?productid=42&cat=8&page=1)
Sony Cliè T665 Aluminum HardCase (Rhino Skin) (http://www.saunders-usa.com/rhinoskin/prod.cfm?cat_id=5028&prod_id=5124)
Sony Cliè T665 Leather Portfolio (Rhino Skin) (http://www.saunders-usa.com/rhinoskin/prod.cfm?cat_id=5028&prod_id=5125) (I liked this one because of the memory stick storage, but my main purpose is protection my CLIE).
Thanks for any advice.

I like the Bellagio case myself. I highly reccommend it.

The Bellagio looks nice, but is is meant to protect the PDA? I don't plan on dropping mine again anytime soon, but then again I didn't plan on dropping it in the first place.

I have the DSI case in Silver, and it absolutely does the job. I have dropped my 665 in this case, and so far, no worries.
I dropped 3 (!) Visors in my previous PDA life, and when I went for the 665, I made myself get a hard case. Have not regretted it. It is very easy to take the Clie out and put back in, so charging isn't a problem.

I haven't dropped my 665, but a good reason for that is because it's usually on my belt. Bottom corners are not protected with the Bellagio, but I did drop my 415 with the same type of case and it survived without any problems.

If you want the most protection go with a metal case.
I have the InnoPocket 665 case and it is soooo nice. It is so strong I've sat on it and nothing broke. It's so slim it bairly adds to the thickness.
If you look at the RhinoSkin case it looks the same (might be made by the same company), but the DSI case is plastic and I've heard of the finish rubbing of the show plastic under the silver.
Go with the InnoPocket/RhinoSkin case...just find which one is cheaper.

Half correct on the DSI case. The bottom half of the case is high-impact plastic. The top half is aluminum with neopreme on the inside. The parts of the case that touch the Clie are plastic, so the only scratches are ones that end up on the inside of the plastic, not the Clie. The outside of the plastic portion of the case (the bottom) gets scratched from sliding the case on desktops, etc., where dirt or other abrasive material gets caught between the bottom of the case and the other surface.
Again, the Clie itself really does not get scratched, unlike with certain other cases. And the scratches on the plastic portion of the DSI case are minor, in my case (no pun intended).
I would definitely put a screen protector on and a hard case, ASAP.
My .02 worth.

With my old T665C I had an EB Cases leather flipcase; www.ebcases.com and dropped the Clie from about 4ft up, after it landed on its' corner and skittered across the concrete floor I picked it up expecting the worst but the case did its job, not even a mark on it and it works fine 7 months later.
Their cases are great with Memory Stick pockets, credit/business card slots, don't need to remove the case to insert into the cradle. Ijust wish they made one for my new TG-50. Oh well I'll keep waiting and hoping I don't drop this one before I get a case.

I too have the Leather EB Slipper case and dropped my T665C onto a concrete garage floor from about 3 feet. No a single dent or crack. Thank goodness I had a the case. I really don't care for the book type cases, and I wanted a leather one, that didn't cost too much. That is what led me to the EB case when I had a Palm Vx and when I went to the T615 I just got the one for that model. I had to do a little modding of the case to fit my T665 but it fits and looks great.

The one thing that keeps me with the Bellagio is the way you can still cradle-synch in the case. My 665 is rarely out of the case at all, and I think that makes a differnce in protection. I'm never looking for the case, or worry about putting the Clie back in the case. I just grab it, clip it to my belt (or slip it in my pocket, although the 415 was better for that), and run. oh well, good luck with your decision. One size definitely does not fit all. :)

For those of you who went with a metal case, where/how did you store your memery stick?
Thanks again for your patience with all my questions...

'Off case' MS storage can be a pain in the neck.
When needed, I tend to store my MS in the little 'purse' that my Koss 'The Plug' earphones come with. They also fit nicely into several pocket-sized candy containers.
You can carry them in a wallet, etc. as long as they don't get flexed when you sit on it.
Some companies offer 'keychain' pouches that work nicely (You'll have to search for them, I can't search and post from another window right now, sorry!)
Of course, another strategy that I use is to create a good 'general purpose' MS that accomplishes 80% of what I need during the day so I don't have to keep the other MS quite as handy.

If I only have one MS and the case I order "fits", is there anything wrong with just leaving the MS in the slot?

No problem whatsoever. Keep in mind that if you are using something like BackupBuddyVFS but not the PC portion of BackupBuddy, then your backups will always be onboard. That is to say, though diligently backing up to the MS, the MS is residing full time in the slot, so if you lose your Clie, you lose the data.
On the other hand, if you purchased another MS, and used that to do backups, you could keep it separate from the Clie (not in the slot, not in the case) for extra security.
I have a Sony DigiCam, so we have several 128MB MSs, so I use the Sony MS case.
Hope this helps.

I just got the Innopocket hard case, which I mostly like. It is easier to take my T665 out of the case than I had feared, so that's good. On the other hand, I've noticed that the MS sticks out of the top enough that it gets in the way when I'm taking my clie out, so I generally remove my MS before taking the palm out of the case. I would rather not have to do that, but I guess I can live with it.

Here's my recommendation:

Cheap, and much more protection... not to mention functional.

I have the rhinoskin and I love it. I has done it's job, it's easy to take in and out and it looks really slick. The only think I don't like is that it's kind of slippery and easy to slip out of your hands if you don't make sure that you have a strong grip on it. Otherwise it's a good case.

On my point of view, I agree that metal case is good for protection, but it cannot provide slot for memory sticks. It also charge the PDA with the case. Is there any case can fulfill all these requirment?
1. Can be charge with the case
2. Can store name card and memory stick
3. Cam have good protection for the PDA

I guess the closest thing to that is Bellagio's case.

hi,
i am a clutz, which for a thread such as this is a very good thing :O)
i have dropped my previous visor deluxe and shattered the screen. i have since owned two vaja leather cases. the extra padding with button closure saved my clie from numerous falls, but the slim version with magnetic closure couldn't withstand its first major fall (it was very major, mind you, about 15 feet... hehe).
the dsi protected my clie well. however, during falls, the case sometimes opened up, which was scary but didnt do anything to harm the clie (phewf!). however, the case i got was in gunmetal and the colour started coming off and looked cheesy so i stopped using it.
i now use the innopocket full time. it adds little to the clie's dimensions. it's pretty lightweight. you can even engrave your name on it quite easily. it has survived every fall thus far (i havent repeated the 15 foot fall, however, so i cant compare on that). i use an aftermarket hotsync cable that lets me hotsync in the case (no cradle). oh yeah, i dont have any scratches from my innopocket case.
well, that's my scoop on clie cases. hope it helps someone out there.

Just got my vaja case for T665, with snap closure, they stopped making the magnetic except for the custom version. I must say this is a finely made case on par with my wife's Dooney & Burke purses. The leather is really good looking. I have a small defect that appears to be a piece of scrap between the lining and the right side leather, not sure if it bothers me, if it does, I'll contact Direct Case about it.
Tomorrow I will see if it cradles in the office.

I also got the Vaja snap closure case and I have been very happy with it. Prior to the Vaja, I ordered and returned the Sena magnetic case. The Sena was nice, but the leather was too thin and the case left too much of the Clie unprotected for my tastes.
Platrick, I also ordered my Vaja from Direct Case. My first Vaja also had a small cut/imperfection on the left front of the leather. I tried to ignore it for a day or two, but it was driving me nuts. Direct Cases has great customer service. I got a replacement case, and $5.00 credit for return shipping costs.

If anyone is interested, I have two Bellagio Design cases for sale out on eBay: Click for auction link. (http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=27968&item=3029255447) Both for $25 plus shipping. I switched to the Clie SJ22 and had to order a new Bellagio case.

I have both innopocket and DSI hardcases. The innopocket is a little heavier compared to the DSI. The DSI is lighter in easier to carry around. However, the bottom or the back part of the DSI case is plastic and the color rubs off easily, and it leaves dark residues on the Clie.
I would go for the Innopocket.
I would forget getting that Rhino hardcase, its the same case as innopocket. Why pay more, $34.00 for the Rhino if you can get the same case for $26.00? Does not make sense.
