Worldwide? I want to believe! I haven't seen much marketing for Treos here in Canada. They really need to up the ante, and give the BlackBerry Pearl and K800 a run for their money! Too bad the price point isn't the same as that in the US. :(

Until Palm begins advertising the full range of capabilities of its smartphones, it will be relegated to just an expensive, big phone. The Windows smartphones will be viewed as the 'real' smartphones you can work on. That's one thing that MS has begun doing, advertising about the utility of the built-in productivity apps. Palm has a harder time doing that, as they're not Palms apps. In the past they've bragged about the simple built-in Palm PIM functions, but many phones now have that capabilitity ....... iPODs have that capability. They're going to have to get serious if they want to stay alive for the long haul.

So .... not to wax philosophical, but who needs a smartphone, anyway? What is a smartphone?

Well, I'm reporting I FINALLY saw evidence of the marketing. I was leaving work yesterday and I saw a Metro bus with the entire side advertising various models of Treo Smartphones. I live in Los Angeles. If I see it again I'll try and snap a picture. :)

hahahahah Most people I meet here go berserk when they see my Treo (since my 650), and they're like, "WHAT IS THAT?" "THAT'S SO COOL!" "I DIDN'T KNOW SUCH A DEVICE EXISTED!!!".

Yeah, all caps and that. :p

Now if only they would spend a little time updating them so they work as advertised.

Then I'll be a believer.

:)
