You need PalmOne Media on your PDA to view photos in your contacts database. But since I didn't get a system CD with my Tungsten E, I don't have that app.

Is there something else that will work with your photos for t he contacts? You an't buy PalmOne Media through PalmOne.

thx

I got an auto-reply that NerdFerd posted something:

FerdFerd has just replied to a thread you have subscribed to entitled - Alternative for PalmOne Media App? - in the Applications forum of 1src Forums.

This thread is located at:

Here is the message that has just been posted:

There are several other photo viewers, but I am not sure about their ability to help with contacts photos. Others may be able to help there.

But Resco Photo Viewer is first rate (but not free or even cheap). GrxView is another one to look at. The lite version is free, but it is limited to jpg images.

I also just remembered that the Media application is in ROM in the TX. You'll get it back after a hard reset.

Finally, have you thought about just buying the installation CD for the TX? They can be had for $9.99 from PDAParts, here (http://www.gethightech.com/Merchant2/merchant.mvc?Screen=PROD&Product_Code=PA1999&Category_Code=SOFT).

Maybe it was deleted.

I'm using the Palm photo viewer app to view photos in general, but it doesn't work with the contacts. :(

Check out this thread: http://www.1src.com/forums/showthread.php?t=105030 You may be able to use the Media app there. It works on my T3 and lets me add photos to address though I rarely use that feature.

:confused:Yes, I deleted the post because I relized that my answer applied to TX users and you said you have an E. I don't know what the situation is for the E. I deleted the post only a minute or so after I posted it, and I assumed no one would ever even know I posted it at all.

Sorry for the confusion. Should I have just edited the post to say it wasn't relevant, but left something there?

I think the Tungsten E has no Media but Palm Photos on CD. And the contacts have no photo capability. But the Garnet T3-thread is a good tip as you should find a solution for both contacts and photos.

Ok,

I finally got to the help file for the Contacts say:

If you have a palmOne™ photo application installed on your computer, such as palmOne™ Media, you also see any .jpg or .bmp files saved in the photo application folder in the My Pictures folder.

thate Media rogram runs on your PC, but I dunno if it puts some kind of app on your Palm. So apparently, the Media program is an add-on for your Palm Desktop.
