I was just reading an article in an auto blog which happens to be be called autoblog.com. I read a post from this July (I realize I'm a tad behind) about on board 20GB mini computer of sorts. I actually don't even to how to classify this automotive interface. Anyhwo this is just plain cool. WHen I think back just 3 or 4 years ago cars had nothing like this!Technology is moving at an awesome speed.

Others are doing a DIY approach. A Mac mini or small form-factor PC is attached in the car. Then various touchscreen monitors are used for the display. :)

Yes Ipod ready cars is so yesterday now. For better of for worse, there are black box memory type that tells people how fast they drove, for how long and whether or not the car needs an oil change.

Even home entertainment for the desktop can have DVD, memory sd or ms cards all accessible via remote! Those folks stuck at home can't imagine the things being sold these days, even if you view engaget and other web sites if you blink you'll miss the latest offerings.

I agree that you blink now a days and you are already behind. That auto blog article I posted on friday regarding the mygig thing I actually saw one this weekend. Apparently Chrysler is installing these units in all different cars now. My buddy has a dodge Nitro (owned by chrysler) and it has a mygig and he already has a zillions songs loaded on it. It can also store pictures.
