Approximately how many minutes of mp3's can you get on a memory stick 128? Trying to figure out what size need for a log trip coming up?

it depends on the bitrate of the mp3s you want to bring.

I record all my MP3s at about 128 (that's pretty much the standard for Kazaa files *looks around* not that I use that service), at that rate it's pretty much 1Mb a minute so just over 2 hours on a 128Mb memory stick :D

I have over 50 MP3 titles at 48bit rate and still have about 30mb left on a 128mb MS. The quality is still good (a step above FM). I am not looking for high fidelity on my TG50, just good quality on average head phones. I use 192kb for my laptop MP3s where I have better speakers and for backup purposes. I use dbpowerAMP to convert the files to the lower bitrate and then move them over to the clie.

128mb isnt enough for me. i should probably have atleast 256mb esp with the tg50's measly 11mb ram i would be getting all my apps from MS.

by the way to those tg50 owners does it access MS faster compared to OS 4.1 devices? i use powerrun and its really slow when you access the apps from ms

Well, the CPU of TG50 is much much faster than those running OS4.1, and you should observe a faster MS access speed to some extend.

However, as I raised in a post around 3 weeks ago, the MS Pro's file writing speed is just the same as MS. This is really disappointing and expose Sony's limitation in delivering a fast storage media.

For other reader who doesn't know what I said before, I used VFS Mark to test the speed of MS Pro and found that the File Write speed of MS Pro is just the same as MS. It is so slow that the speed is 24% of a Palm m505 writing to a standard 16MB SD.

The slow speed in writing to MS Pro will be more and more obvious when the CPU speed is going faster and faster. Imagine when you have a 400MHz handheld waiting for writing to a MS Pro!

I'm sure that MS Pro will be the bottleneck to the further improvement of CLIE. Hope that future handhelds may solve this problem.

thats discouraging. i was really impressed with TTs SD access speed. i wonder if there is an available benchmark online comparing the TT ang TG since all i can base is the TT coz ive used it.
