I just updated the CLIE Viewer and CLIE Files apps on my TG-50 and now I have two icons of each. I can't toss one out because they both seem to be in ROM.

Short of hard resetting, how can I get rid of the the duplicate icons?

Ah, good question. I'm using SilverScreen and the double icon thing only happens in that launcher. However I don't know how to get rid of the duplicates.

Then I guess u have to ask the developer...I'm fine with YiShow

I believe in that particular launcher there is a way to hide icons...try to find that and you will be golden

That was it. Thanks alan98 and Baker1369.

I contacted PocketSensei and this was their response:

"Duplicate icons appear when applications are stored in more than one
location (i.e. RAM, ROM and expansion media).

The standard Palm interface only shows one item no matter how many it finds. SilverScreen follows the (more accurate) convention of showing all items much like your desktop computer would show multiple items if they existed in different locations such as your hard drive or floppy disk.

The SilverScreen convention is more accurate, however some users have found this confusing in which case an app can have it's Hidden bit turned on (drag the app to the Info tool)."

Just as a follow-up...although hiding the duplicate icon worked temporarily, it didn't seem to stick. The duplicate popped back up in the unfiled category. So then I hid it again, and it reappeared later on.

It's a shame because I really like SilverScreen as a launcher. I think it has one of the best looking interfaces and its theme implementation is slick. I haven't tried YiShow yet, but Zlauncher and LauncherX don't look as nice and they both use tiny icons.

Filez, look for the one in RAM, set the invisible pref to true. But that might hide the newer version. I personally opened a hidden categoryin ZL, where I drag all unwanted icons to.
