This is really lame. :rolleyes: I didn't see this coming. :confused:
Anyone know of a utility or generic mointor driver I can use under XP to choose this resolution?

FREAKING LAME!!!!
I just found this;
http://drivers.softpedia.com/get/GRAPHICS-BOARD/ATI/DNA-ATi.shtml
It installed great, so I chose 1440x900, which is the LCD's native freaking rez and it said not supported... :mad:
Hurray... :) :(

The resolutions that are offered to you are a combination of what the video card driver reports is possible, and what the monitor driver reports is possible. Resolutions they agree on will be available to you.
That said, you can frequently hack the drivers to give you unsupported resolutions, as long as they don't exceed the memory capability of the video card. Make sure you have the latest driver for your monitor first. Otherwise edit the video card's INF file and see if you can add the neccessary res. If all that fails, check with guru3d.com for ideas.

Thanks. I ended up downloading things like ATI setup on my PC, SwitchResX on my Macs and son on. I tried the mointor on 3 Macs here ,one PC, and a friend's MacBook Pro wich runs at 1440x900 natively, and nothing worked. Even though I could choose 1440x900 on some of my comps, the screen would state invalid input.
The book that came with it states its native rez is 1440x900, but it only supports 640x480, 800x600, 1024x768, and get this, 1280x1024. It actually runs at the last rez, which makes no freaking sense to me. It looks like crap of course. This is what I get for trying to save money, I ended up loosing time. The screen would've only been $199 after rebate, which is why I even bothered with an unfamiliar brand.
I'm going to get this one. Everything I've found states it will run at 1440x900 and it includes a driver CD for XP;

Blah. I'm just waiting for ClubMac to call me back. I'm only giving them a few more minutes, than I driving down to return this thing physically, since their main office is in Irvine. I'm not going to pay to ship this back. I waited a week for this to ship, and then lost an entire night of sleep, so they can give me a 100% refund today.
Blah. Rants. RAMBLES. :)

A new day, a new monitor. The Samsung works perfectly. :D It was $369 at Office Depot. They're being discontinued, so Best Buy was sold out at all locations. Bestbuy only has 1 or 2 at its stores.
Blah blah blah blah.
