Hard drive to Palm

Has any one run accross a method (hardware or software) of reading a USB drive directly from a palm with out a computer as intermediary. with all the pocket sized drivers out there I can't believe someone hasn't worked on this.

There are card readers that act like adaptors changing the card into a flash drive. Basically a SD card or memory stick is our flash drive.

However whatever you put onto the card is read only if it is in a form the palm or clie can read. Since the price differences of a flash drive or card reader is not that great I don't think there will be a usb slot put onto a pda in the future for flash drives.

Palm devices are not capable of acting as USB hosts.
