View Full Version : Import option a MUST for Compact Flash

I use my NX on 3 different computers and an import option (additional drive) is a must. I used the MS import to transfer files from home to work as well as loading MP3's and running apps. But without that option for the CF card, it strongly handicaps it's potential. Does anybody else agree?

Agreed. I love the new driver but I agree it would be very nice to have an import option for the CF card

I don't understand you guys, I'm sitting here, looking at the contents of my 1 gig CF from drive L on my pc (I am running msimport)...

They way you guy wrote your posts, most people would think you have the driver installed, and have verified it does not work.

It works here for me, so what's up?

Wow then you are the first one that I have seen who can do this.

I am not able to do this at all. Even worse when I have the CF card mounted MSimport does not even recognize the MS. Only when I unmount the CF card can I use MSimport again.
I think even Eruware said MSimport does not work.
What did you do different?

Yeah do tell, do tell...

I've been using my Clie to tranfer files to and from work, but I've found it easier just to get a USB CF reader.

I know it's not exactly the solution you were looking for (and I agree it would be very useful to have the use of MSImport), but it seems almost quicker just to rip the card out of the Clie and stick it in the reader, rather than running MSImport.

Also that way you don't have to worry about having the relevant software on the PC/Mac. So long as it's XP or MacOS X you shouldn't need any drivers to access the card.

I actually prefer running a Card Reader as opposed to MS Import. Reason ?

Well the clie itself is actually quite slow at read/write compared to my reader.

I have a 6-in-1 PCMCIA Reader, and I can write 120mb worth of info to a CF card in under 1 min (even faster at times)

When I have the CF card mounted or Masquerading neither Msimport File transfer from the Audioplayer works.

yep, 6-in-1 readers are quick access to all types of card. Anything works for me, as long as it delivers. :D

Readers are great, but after buying the driver, CF card, and 1 reader (approx. $150.00 USD, I don't want to buy additional readers for each computer I use daily at different locations. On their website, they said they would consider making an import option available based on customer requests. I say we all let them know how crucial this option is for us. I just don't see mounting and unmounting or "ripping the card out" are efficient processes. Isn't that why we have these things, for efficiency and fun. Oh Yeah, and as a money pit.

Yep sure, I agree completely.

My NX70v has been a bit of a money pit, and I'm even more freaked out by the fact that today everyone at my work, except for myself and three others, have just been made redundant.

Thank the dear lord I bought everything before any redundancies appeared to be on the cards, otherwise I don't think I'd have the guts...

I also could not see the the CF or MS (with both inserted, CF mounted) when using MS Import. I had to remove the CF to use MS Import on the MS last night.

I also had a frightening thing happen. I was installing an update to an app. I tried to copy it over the old (in /palm/launcher) but it using clie files, but it didn't copy. So I deleted the old one through Zlauncher, by long clicking on the icon in the normal Zlauncher tab. It seemed to be doing something, so I looked away to watch TV. When I looked back a few mins later it was still accessing the MS. Long story short, I lost everything in /palm/launcher!

I was surprised to read that somebody was able to access the CF card in his Clie using MSImport. It definitley doesn't work on my NX70. Tried it with two different CF cards.

If someone knows how to acces the CF card from the PC and to transfer files directly to the CF from the PC, that information should be given to all. I have been trying to figure it out since yesterday and haven't had any success.

I have the same problem with my NX70. When the CF card is mounted the MSimport does not work. It is a function I use very often

As far as I know, MS Import does NOT work on the CF card for now!

Hope that would be part of the future upgrade improvement to have MS IMPORT.

Oh, Larry, think you might want to keep a look out for the new patch for Netfonts, should be anytime soon on the English version. Since I remember you're a fan of Netfont. :D

LOL :D!

Thanks!

EruWare is MS Import aware and is one of the things being looked at. If there is a way, I am sure they will add it.
