About the new Core Player, I have been waiting for a free or demo version before I evaluate if I want to switch from TCPMP or not. TCPMP is doing everything I need right now, so I'm gonna stick with it.

I feel the same way. If I want to watch a quick video clip on my Treo, I'm using TCPMP. I might switch to Core Player when there is a compelling reason to do so.

No, sir, I do not. No Diet Coke was spilled during the recording of the 1SRC podcast.

FWIW, I purchased Coreplayer early on and it wasn't all it was cracked up to be. It was buggy, slow, lacking features, had poor five-way support and frustrating in general.
Recently the 1.04 release came out and it is MUCH better. It still lacks features that will likely show up in the 1.5 version but it is much improved over the initial release. It is probably the release they should have released to begin with but couldn't due to the passing deadline problems.
I'm not a media power user so I can only speak from the casual user perspective.
I did watch one of Sammy's video podcasts on Coreplayer recently (which is a QuickTime video) and it worked great. That was kinda cool.

I'm surprised not many people are talking about the new Kinoma player. I've been thinking of buying it for my TX. I wonder how it fares against TCPMP and Core Player. So far people who have tried it have been impressed.
If anyone had the courage to buy this trial-free software, let us know how it performs!

I used Kinoma waaay back on the m505. I didn't really like it. However, it's not fair to draw comparisons because the m505 had almost no multimedia capabilities. When I got my Tungsten T, I started using AeroPlayer. Since Pocket Tunes is coming preinstalled on new devices, I haven't upgraded AeroPlayer.

Alan,
The new Kinoma player 4EX is supposedly light years ahead of any other media player out there for Palm Os, according to some reviewers. I am wondering just how it fares against Core Player though. I am planning on buying one of the two, but I have to say that at this point, I might just stay with pocket tunes and TCPMP. But that Kinoma 4EX thing... it's bugging me, I must admit. I wish they had a free trial.

Do you have links to the reviews? I haven't read any.
For me, I'm sticking to pTunes and TCPMP. With an iPod 5th Gen I have no need to watch or listen to videos and music on my Treo unless I left the iPod home.

The review is pretty positive. Still wish I could try it out though...Could you get it to review it? PalmAddicts is a really well done site with reliable information. How is Kinoma compared to to TCPMP/CorePlayer though?
PIC (http://www.palminfocenter.com/news/9068/kinoma-player-4-ex-released/) had an article too but had even less information. I'm gonna contact Ryan to see if he tried it

I just downloaded the new 1.0.4 version of CorePlayer. It's fixed some of the issued I had with it, notably the buffering issue that kept high-resolution files from working, and added functionality to the playlist like adding and rearranging files. The future for CorePlayer looks promising, though I still don't recommend it. I may have sounded harsh on the podcast. It's not like it's a bad program or anything, it's just not worth $20-25 compared to the free TCPMP. If TCPMP didn't exist, I'd certainly recommend CorePlayer.

Kinoma 4EX does look good from that review. Google Video and Youtube? Sounds great! I wish they would give me a demo. I asked a little while ago, but they said 'no'. Now I'm going to have to buy that program, too. :)
