I have a question. I have been trying to set up hotsync via wifi...I tried everything and followed the guide (3 Times) in the manual. I matched all of the settings on PC and LD. This will not work. I am just trying to connect at home, I do not need a VPN, I just want to hotsync via wifi and I can't. Very frustrating.
I appreciate any input.

It is possible the issue is your DNS setting. There is a very long thread at Brighthand.com on how to select and setup a wireless router that goes into specifics.

Davejanis, You may have done the following, but I thought I would make some suggestions: 1. Launch Preferences and select WiFi. 2. If you do not have your Network SSID set up select Edit Network. 3. Your home WiFi should have a name associated with it and if you have it secured you have a WEP key. Enter the SSID and your WEP code as used for your home network.

That should get you set up. You will love the ability to use WiFi for email and hotsynch, web browsing, etc. Good luck.

You need to set up a (preferably WEP encrypted) wireless network and set all your IP and DNS settings to "automatic" (You can also assign a static IP to your computer, but if you intend to frequently connect to other networks as well, this won't be convenient, since you will have to change your settings every time). Then let your Palm discover your network and connect to it. Wait until both your Palm and your computer have been assigned an IP address. Then, - if using automatic IPs - click on the wireless connection icon on your computer and check your IP address. Enter this on your Palm and start syncing. This will be necessary only for your first WLAN sync. After that, you can just select your PC's name from the list in your Hotsync app and start syncing. DO NOT FORGET to enable network syncing in Hotsync manager. If a Windows (or other) firewall alert comes up, choose "Unblock" to allow incoming sync connections.

That's what worked for me and my TX, hope it helps.

Also, for anyone reading (not the original poster, as he appears to be using Windows), the Palm HotSync software for OS X does not support internet-based syncs. You would have to use Missing Sync instead.
