Not yet that we are aware of, but I understand other avenues were being looked at. In some areas, anxious users are locked out from purchasing the driver :(!

I thought there was an international paypal page. Its linked to in the release date news article.

I also think this is an issue. I'm in Hong Kong and yesterday I (think I) registered with PayPal. Now I have to wait for the registration ID before I can complete registration. Then I have to go and put my order in for the drivers. Then I have to wait for the details to be sent to me.
I thought the WWW was all about convenience etc, not inconvenience.
Does anyone know is these CF Driver guys have looked into selling the driver through someone like PalmGear?

Even better still, I can't register on Paypal since my country is not listed on it. I wonder if it's due to the credit card fraud that's been happening lately here. Hmmmm !
Same here! I live in Macau and I'm sick and tired of all these waitings buying a software. Are they actually trying to deter us from buying?

Not that I'm biased or anything, but I think it's a US centric thing - if it works in America then it must work in the rest of the world...
Darn right! I totally agree with you Halesy.

Yep the paypal thing is very frustrating... I have signed up and have yet to receive the account number. i think I have to wait for my credit card staements at the end of the month then I can purchase the driver after which i have to wait 48 hours.

RANT ON.
I think this is a very frustrating experience for me too. My country is not listed and I even went as far as to try get PayPal to make an exception. I was asked to Fax them my Statements, and then they emailed me and asked for even more verification only to be tell me later that my country is not supported, which was why I asked for an exception in my first mail!!!
I wrote to Eruware three times about this and how else I CAN PAY THEM and got NO response!
Imagine people here are complaining about waiting for their codes and some of us here can't even find a way to pay for it.
RANT OFF.

Asked them about it yesterday. They said they were looking at alternatives and would send me a mail when it comes available. They also send along an address for mail ordering, but I think you should better ask them yourself. Posting real-world addresses on a forum is generally not a good idea.

Same here...
I´ve been waiting sooooo long for this driver to come true,
and now I can´t buy it cause I´ve to go through this
Paypal-thingie. My creditcard-statement comes around the
15th each month, so I have to wait till the mid of may just
to complete the Paypal-Membership and another few days
to have the driver running on my NX.
I´m very frustrated... :(

Okay, I've just got a reply from Eruware regarding this.
<Subject: EruWare: We will try to arrange for other payment options soon.
You are receiving this email because you told us that you are interested in
purchasing the EruWare CompactFlash Storage Card Driver for the Sony Clie,
but would like an alternative to paying with PayPal. I just want to let you
know right now that we are working on the problem, and hope to have a
solution within a few days. I apologize for the time this is taking, but
hopefully it will be resolved soon.>
So disregard my RANT about no replies ;)

I am in Brazil and I am able to use paypal. I even was able to pay for things before my account was verified.
yeah, talk about test of patience.... same here...
fortunately, PayPal is available for my country, but like many others, I'll have to wait for the Postal bank statement (paypal's member#). Until then can I verify with PayPal thus to place an order with Eruware.
So what I did was requested my friend in US to place an order for me (with his PayPal acount), which also ended up to be a rather stupid decission, since his PayPal account is settled with eCheck so that would take like 5 working day for the bank to transfer the money to his PayPal account.
Now I'm stuck with only a purchase order #1117. (No driver)
I already purchased a Sandisk 256MB, along with a handy 6-in-1 Read/Writer. Everything is set yet no driver to support it.
Oh well, we learn from mistakes....
By the way, Penang.... great food there, been there 3 times before. Nice weather also.

Are you required to have an account? While the page offers you the option to login to PayPal, I believe you can use it like any other credit card processor - someone should test this; I can't since I used my PayPal account to pay

I got the same impression from the page that opens after you click on the Buy icon.

In the US here, my younger brother said it took him an hour to get setup with PayPal. Even at that he was fuming over it.
No one gets more impatient than me, I want things yesterday :)!
After seeing both sides of the coin here, I can see that EruWare has been overwhelmed. They are not a big company like Microsoft, at least not yet :)!
A decsion was made to release the driver to the public. I suppose they could have waited another few days or weeks. This way everyone would have had to wait while all the pieces were in place first.
It's the old story, damned if you do, damned if you don't. BTW, some of the beta testers were able to see some of the other issues, that the public didn't see.
I firmly believe that EruWare really wants to do good for all. They really could use a little slack to get squared away.
Anyone who feels that they have a problem with their order or whatever, send them an email to: support at eruware.com. They will eventually get to you. Put yourself in their shoes and think of what you would do, if you were overwhelmed.

I agree with n2ifp.
Even though I have moaned about PayPal and not being able to buy the driver quickly enough, I recognise EruWare are a small company trying to do their best. I am very happy with what they've done and I can wait to start playing!

Problem is, not everybody has a credit card. But since they allow mail order, that's fine with me.

i originally posted a reply when the driver was due to hit the market asking for a paypal option.
im in australia and have had no problems using it and buying the driver. i think its unfortunate for people in some asian countries. credit card fraud is big over there and its only hurting the real credit card purchasers.

yeah, like someone else said in this forum, not all of us have (or want) credit cards. and for us individuals, the idea of purchasing this software without paypal is important. I believe I read that mail order is an option, but the info is a bit unclear.... yeah thats right I said I don't want a credit card... B )

I wonder if Eruware has considered using Palmgear or Handango? I've bought some software using Palmgear and it rather was painless. My Malaysia's registered credit cards works fine. I assume Handango's the same as well.
I'm working in Singapore but I don't own any Singapore based credit cards so Paypal doesn't work for me as well :(
Hopefully Eruware will find the alternative payment system soon. I hate applying for a new credit card just to buy one software. My wife'll go bonkers.

Perhaps someone here can tell what the problem with Paypal is. When I found out that they required paypal. I created a new account then bought the driver and recieved my software. This took a total of 40 minutes, I timed it because I was at work when I did it. I understand for those who do not have credit cards, but I have seen people in other threads complaining about other than just having to use a credit card.

Hello everyone,
I just wanted to let you guys know that we are discussing distribution options that I'm sure everyone will be very happy with. Please be patient with us, we're moving as quickly as we can. All the people that don't want to use PayPal should have another option very soon.
Thanks,
Amir Yasin

It's easy to use in the USA, other places it's a lot more involved, like requiring copies of your credit card statement and faxing it in! Some countries like Malaysia, isn't even recognized by PayPal at all and refuse to accept the business.

Even though they recognise Hong Kong credit cards i.e. mine, I still have to wait until my next CC bill for my member number. I recieved my latest bill yesterday, so I have another month to wait until I can get my membership. I cannot use PayPal until I get that membership number.
I might be rather pessimistic but I'm also worried the longer it takes for me to get the driver the more chance there is that Sony will come in and block the use of the new driver because of commercial/legal reasons. I'd like to get my driver before tis happens.

With all these "discussions" about cracking vs buying the new CF driver, I wish Eru will come up with the alternative payment system soon. Some of us (ie. ME! ME! ME!) WANTS to buy this driver but paypal don't like my CC.
Still waiting.... :(

I've actually now received my PayPal number and got the driver. Unfortunately I don't expect my registration number for at least a couple of days as it is the weekend in the US.
I'm on tender hooks waiting to try it out.
Know what you mean about PayPal though, but it sounds like Eru might be coming up with alternative payment methods. Selfishly I'm not worried about that now.

I know this is frustrating to a lot of people. I think the problem lies with paypal though and not with Eruware. The product is a good one (that is verified by the beta testers and those that have posted that have bought it) but the methods of selling aren't that great. I know they are looking into other methods of selling besides paypal but are also bound by the hours others work in the US. I think we may all see some results this week on the alternative payment methods too. I am guilty of hounding them also.

Being able to use a credit card would be good - bottom line if people can't buy it why shouldn't they steal it

Now I got the member-number, but then what?
Do you get an email or something that point you to the download website? Or do I need to take further steps.
I've confirmed my email
do I have to be "verified" by having an account?
thanks.... it's kind of complicated..

One you have your member number you can complete registration with PayPal, you should have an email from them telling you how to do that.
Then you need to go back to the EruWare website and buy the driver using PayPal.
Then you'll some emails from EruWare. First from them to me was to give me my order number, followed quickly by the driver. I received these within minutes of completing my order.
After a clarification email with them regarding user IDs, and a few days wait (it was a weekend) I received my registration code for the driver.
So, I got mine yesterday and spent last night playing. Still need a bunch more time figuring out the best way to use it - then suggesting the improvements it needs :D.

Sounds like you need some help there, wish I could help you out, any suggestion? :D
Perhaps Amir will come out with a new method of payment, since this has been an issue among many NX users.

Glad to hear that you're now playing with your new toy! Nice isn't it? Although I'm already antisipating for future improvements to be implemented. Am I expecting too much of my clie? :D
