My SJ30 stopped hotsyncing on April 11th. I called Sony tech support and we went through a variety of procedures to no avail. I ended up shipping my Clie, hotsync and power cable to the Sony Repair Center in San Diego. I got it back on April 22nd with a note stating "no fault found, functional check". The SJ30 still did not hotsync. I called Sony customer service again and we went through the same litany of processes as before, again to no avail. I took my Clie and cables to Comp-USA and asked them to try to hotsync on one of their computers. We found that the hotsync cable was ok, but plug adapter that the cable fits into was malfunctioning. My guess is that the Sony Repair tech checked out my Clie but not my cable or adapter plug. I purchased the hotsync cable and plug adapter (the only way you can buy it) at that store rather than hassle with Sony on this issue. This was a frustrating experience to say the least.
