My CLIE since a few days is not responding to the start button. When I do a hard/soft reset, it brings up the Palm Powered screen, but nothing happens after that. Sometimes, it does accept my hardreset and once done, does a softreset and again gets stuck on the Palmpowered screen. Also, very rarely it starts up after a hard reset just fine.

Can anyone suggest what I should do? PLEASE HELP.

Yes I looked at your history and you mentioned that you used a TJ-37. You sure you know what a hard reset is compared to a soft reset? When you do a hard reset (pressing the reset and the on button) you need to press the button to the left or to the right of the scroll wheel, otherwise it will keep blinking til it runs out of power.

Will the battery charge up and the charging light go out? Low power in the battery will prevent the clie from resetting. Yes my advice might be the blind leading the blind, since I never had the instruction manual or the installation CD for my clie TJ-37. I hope you have a great thanksgiving nonetheless....

Thanks a ton for your response.

I know the hard reset process - have done it many times. Mostly, after I hold the power button and click the reset, it shows me a message to push the left button. Now it no longer shows the message. Even still, I press the left button and nothing happens.

Yes the battery charges up but didnt notice if the light goes out or not. Will check and get back. I tried to do hardreset even with the power cord plugged in.

Thanks for the "blind" advise - but it still has given me something to move ahead. I am glad, thanks. You too, enjoy the thanksgiving.

More drastic suggestion: unplug the power cord and the battery. Then you would need the tripoint screwdriver to extract the battery(or be very careful in using a flat screwdriver)

Eventually both of us Tj-37 users will need to change batteries, at least this will give you a trial run to replace the batteries. So far I had to replace the regular phillips screws on the on/off button side(used the screws from my hp camera that I use for parts) I have dropped my tj-37 several times and I have a crack in the casing near the charge button.

Good luck and yes I had a good thanksgiving, I hope maybe we get a pool of tj-37 users and replace the batteries in the future...(storing Li-ion batteries is not a good idea but hopefully they won't discontinue stocking the batteries)
