um...the picture of the clie being on shows wireless disconnected icon on statusbar. on real TH55s that have bluetooth, when wireless is not connected, it shows bluetooth icon.

Yes, but the Bluetooth icon generally shows once you've enabled BT from Prefs for the first time, sort of once it's out of the bag thing. Then my th55/e's have always defaulted to the BT icon.

But if never enabled, it will only show WLAN status.

I have not seen it before also. It looks like a genuine BT as shown on the box similar to that of TH55/E box. This would be the 6th version of TH55 then.

The TH55 versions that I have seen before are:
1. CSK-003 for Japanese version w/o Bluetooth
2. CSK-003/U for US version w/o Bluetooth
3. CSK-003/E1 for UK/DE/FR version w/ Bluetooth
4. CSK-003/E2 for UK/IT/SP version w/ Bluetooth
5. CSK-003/H for Hong Kong version w/o Bluetooth

I asked the seller more about his friend that worked at Sony and if he knew much about his handheld, and this was his reply:

"Actually this was the sony clie sold in Mexico, myself and another freind convinced this friend that works in sony to bring it to Mexico with bluetooth and he actually did (they were originally going to sell the us version). My friend in sony now works in san diego and I believe he is working with the VAIO brand.

Cheers"

Sounds legit, but I've never heard of anyone ever talking about a bluetooth model from Mexico. And by the looks of the box with the Bluetooth description on the front and have you ever seen that 'Sony' tape on an OEM box before? I've also not seen the markings on the back of the '55 before. Looks nice! I might have myself a new backup or main unit. . .hmmmm.

Looks like Sony could have offered BT to everyone. :(
