Every app I've tried so far for BT sending has been limited to files no larger than free memory. Are there any apps without this limitation, where you can send a 200 MB file if you like?

only way to solve this is to receive ya files to external card,
maybe with this freeware:
Getdeblu (http://www.webalice.it/rodolfo.turco/getdeblueng.html)

yepp !
even when both sides using BT 2.0 with Enhanced Data Rate it would take something about 13 hours for 200 MB !
@arth1
so why not simply take out ya card and flush over da 200 MB via USB 2.0 in a half minute ????

To be able to save to an external card won't help you when you can't send and receive files larger than what can fit in RAM. All the BT software I've seen seems to rely on Palm's bluetooth stack, which requires the file to be copied to RAM first, and sent from there (similar when receiving).

There can be many reasons for not wanting to do that, including (but not limited to) transferring files from your cell phone while away from your PC, being in bed sick and getting up to use the desktop computer is not an option, or simply not having any USB connection handy.
In my case, I discovered the problem when I wanted to transfer a large mp3 file to my cell phone. All the software I tried required the file to be copied to RAM first, and since the UX50 only has 7 MB system memory (plus 16 MB program memory, but that's only for run-in-place apps, not data), it's going to be very hard to transfer anything larger than ~6 MB.

sorry, i really can't follow what your talkin about, cause YOU asked about transfering "200 MB" file ! so, when you find a solution, have a nice weekend while transfering via BT ! ;)

200 MB was an example and not a specific problem -- the "200 MB if you like" should have clued you in. I could have said 8 MB or I could have said 2 GB. The problem itself was clearly stated -- the inability to transfer files larger than what fits in system memory. The reason I said 200 MB was so people would not suggest using a memory card, as that would be implicit from the file size (not that I was successful, as your reply shows).
Again, the problem is the ability to transfer a file that's larger than the available system memory. Whether it's 8 MB, 17 MB, 200 MB or any other size.
