Hey,
So two weeks ago I sent my Palm TX to palm to get the following problems fixed: faulty power button and a drifiting digitizer. I just got it back to day and after a little playing it seems like the digitizer is holding but I'll have to wait a while to really make sure.
However, the power button is still faulty and will only work 20% of the time and only by using extreme pressure. The digitizer was the problem I really wanted fix since Audodo can be used as a solution to the power button.
Should I just send my Palm back to Palm again and try to get them to fix the power button? Although I am satisifed with the return of my digitizer, it would be nice not to lose a hard key. However, I am a little afraid that if they mess with my unit again the digitizer might drift again.
Any thoughts?
Do they fix a TX???
I dont know cause my was replace cause of the headphone jack problem. the replacment unit as far as i can tell is new. Is there a way to tell, is it new or not?

The TX was repaired I believe because the serial number on the unit sent back was the same as the one I sent to Palm
Before you do, try this.
I had a flakey power button on my TX when I first got it about a year ago. After two months I was ready to return it and in the process of trying to do a hard reset so I could send it in I discovered that I could reliably work the power button by being deliberate when I pressed it and also pushing slightly towards the back of the TX. This has worked for a couple of other TX users as well. It is now 10 months later and it still working about the same.
That being said, I also got a couple of apps that make my power button use less stressful.
AuDodo - turns my "Home" hard button into an On/Off switch.
HomeWithFind - Replaces the find icon with a Home icon (find is still accessible by tapping and holding). This is necessary since I gave up the "Hard" Home button.
HardResetTX - just in case, this will hard reset my device if the power button does not work. But BE CAREFUL, if you press it, it does it, no second chances.

Actually Palm does something interesting. They open the device and fixed/replaced/refurbished it and put a different back cover on my TX but the front cover is the game. I think they fix it because my TX has the same MAC ID after as it did before because I am able to use WiFi and didn't have to report a new MAC ID to my school.
