I have a nx80v that recently stopped working, I was be listening to some mp3's and all of a sudden the screen flickered with allot of colors and then it shut down, I tried to power it on but nothing happened, so I did the hard reset procedure and it turned on with that are you sure you want to delete all your data message i said no and its started to flicker like a strobe light I tried turning it off and the only way I could was by disconnecting the battery and so I did.
Out of frustration I performed a hard reset and all of a sudden it’s started working again but after a while the same sad song. Some one told me that I had to change the battery but before I buy one I figured I would post my Clie blues. Any help would be appreciated

What did you do after the hard reset? Did you hotsync? Do you normally keep the NX charged up? I am thinking this could be a battery issue, failing circuitry issue or software corruption. The flickering tends to steer me toward a possible software problem that put you into a reset loop that was only broken after you performed a hard reset.

A couple of thoughts...Check you battery meter. If it looks full, it probably is. Keep an eye on it periodically and see if it loses power quickly. At the age your NX is now, if it still has the original battery in it, it probably is due for a replacement.

Do a hard reset, do not perform a recovery hotsync, and test the NX. Load up a few apps, not from a backup, but from scratch. Retest. You need to determine if there might have been a corrupt application or database that might have caused the unusual behavior. The only way to do this is to restore apps a few at a time. If you have no more problems, you can be pretty sure something was corrupt or there was a conflict of some sort.

If the problem continues after the above, I would start thinking the NX is FTD (fixin' to die). At that point, complete overhaul or replacement would be indicated.
