I attempted to hot sync a file to by Canon 8MB CF card using the new driver. During sync my NX screen flickered, kind of like an interference pattern.

Has any once else had this problem? Could it be causing damage to my screen?

It had done it to me once during beta testing, then it stopped and I couldn't duplicate it again. It didn't hurt anything that I could ascertain. I believe there is something in the known issues readme that menetions something similar to it.

The Known Issue states: "4. There is a slight screen jitter when there is prolonged access to the CF card, especially in slow mode."

My screen jittered as soon as the Hot Sync started. There was no "prolonged access'. The main thing I want to know is if this will cause any damage.

Thanks for you help as always.

I have been following the driver reports since they started late march. I wasn't chosen for the beta but I haven't seen anything since its release about damage due to screen flicker or other. Not even from the beta testers. I think they did extensive testing on all models they could get to reply to the beta request. If you are afraid though maybe you could send ayasin an email and ask? Or ask one of the beta testers? Just a suggestion.

While it looks kind of scary the flicker will not damage the screen. It is caused by the processor not getting a chance to switch over and refresh the LCD (i.e. staying in ARM mode too long). We are looking at ways to alevaite this without sacrificing speed.

Thanks,
