Well, since there are now 4GB CF cards, you can have 5GB of storage at a time if you wanted.

Unfortunately with all that storage space + the fact that it takes hours to transfer big files (unless your using a card reader), I feel that there's more pain than joy with the current state of the CF drivers. I mean its great that its finally out, but its just not convenient enough at this point. Transfers are super slow, the multimedia apps don't support it unless your in masquerade mode, but that crashes a lot. This is a palm, not windows 98. Its almost better to just buy a 512 MS pro at this point since it does everything I want without the crashing and inconvenience. Hopefully, the next cf driver release will be more stable.

Absolutely. Matter of fact, Palmax Amigo and iPAQ users have been using PC card storage for years.

I can live some minor annoyances for cheaper memory. Besides there will be updates.
Hmmm...I'm investigating the MS Pros right now.

I hate to burst your bubble, but my Ipaq 5455 w/duel cf slots has 512mb sd, 2x 1gb cf, 64mb ram and 22mb file store! Thats over 2.5 gigs!
I share your joy though, the cf driver is great news, but will be more usefull when it supports multi-cards (cf and ms together).

The driver can do this right now. As long as the app you are using can handle multiple VFS volumes, it will have no problem at all reading files from both the MS and CF cards at the same time. You can also launch applications off at the same time.
The only time you can't use both at the same time is when you are using Sony's built in apps.. which were written without multiple VFS volume awareness (besides the original version of Clie Viewer)

Doesn't matter how much storage you have,... the NX only has ~10mb of available RAM. That's the bottleneck that's killing me :(

Right, it's the apps that need to have mutiple VFS support, not the CF driver! What Ocell says is correct ;)!

Well, while we're bursting bubbles: My iPAQ 3850 had a 20GB hard drive running off an ATA adapter through the PCMCIA sleeve. The whole contraption was velcroed together. No, I didn't carry it that way all the time, but it sure made a hell of an MP3 player.
i'd get an iPod rather than that contraption... just aint worth the extra size to my PDA...

Go to Brayder.com and get JackFlash. On my NX-70 there is a cool 4 megs of flashrom not being used. I've filled all but about 200k of it and everything works like the camera, etc. So with that 4 plus the 11 that's 15 and it works GREAT!
Highly Recommended!
Serena, who thinks a 512 CF card somewhere is on a perpetual sale is pretty kewl.

My feelings and experience as well.

What are the symptoms when you run out of RAM?
I can't imagine cramming more apps or MP3s on my nx60 + 1GB CF but have not experienced any issues - other than some driver related crashes.
