Does anyone know if Diskmanager v1.2 works on a TX?

And my second question:
Where can I purchase the programm? I did not find any hint at http://www.xxare.com

imho it's freeware.

Unfortunately it is not (only) freeware. The freeware version is limited e.g. to 4MB disks. The manual states that the registered version can handle up to 128MB and that is what I would need.

And, why would you need a 128mb virtual card?

Did you try emailing them? xxare@xxare.com

I installed DiskManager and my TX started to do reset loops. Impossible to stop the resets. I had to hard-reset it and reinstall my latest backup (thanks NVBackup!).

Yeah, I guessed that DiskManager wouldn't work on the TX, as it hasn't been updated in quite a while. It was a fun little program to use on non-NVFS machines. Maybe someone has had a positive experience with it?

Yes, of course I tried to email them. This is what I got:

... This is a permanent error; I've given up. Sorry it didn't work out.
<xxare@xxare.com>:
Sorry,_I_wasn't_able_to_establish_an_SMTP_connection. ...

:(

I thought it could be usefull for private files on the card in case your palm gets lost or stolen.

Many thanks to snark for "sacrificing" his TX.

I have to look for other solutions. Many thanks for the comments!

Many thanks to snark for "sacrificing" his TX. Not that I was willing to sacrifice it!:D
Just proved that a good (and working!) backup solution is always needed!

I have to look for other solutions. If you find something, please let us know. I'm interested too.

Sounds like mEncryptor might be what you are looking for: http://www.toysoft.ca/security.html

Best wishes.

I already looked at this possibility, but in the manual you can read:
"...mEncryptor™ does not do transparent encryption..."

... but this is what I need, bacause I want to use the solution with CardExport and the Palm transparently encrypting data.

Nevertheless with your recommondation I will give it a try. Thanks for the proposal. :)

It seems that at least snark and I would be your marketing target group. ;)

Anyone else interested?

I'll be buying it as well!

Any chance of porting truecrypt (http://www.truecrypt.org/)? Or make your program (even partially) compatible at least?

Might be easier to just do it from scratch, using an off-the-shelf AES library.

By the way, is there any freeware or, better, open source ram disk program?

Perhaps this could help a bit:

"To learn more about programming for RAM Disk, please see PalmRamDisk Developer Addendum.pdf documentation in the Palm RAM Disk download package." from http://www.handwatch.com/handwatch2/?q=title/%2363 .

PS: What I am looking for is basically a "RAM Disk located on an SD card".
