This new version of the desktop client is jaw dropping good. It is skinned a bit like Windows Media Player 11 and overall looks very sleek. The improved RSS support makes it my new favorite desktop RSS client and you can now access multiple books stores including Fictionwise to directly download your books to your PC through desktop reader. The Palm OS Reader is still 5.2, but syncs very well the desktop client as before.
You can import pdf, html, doc, rtf and text and it will convert it directly to Mobipocket format. Tried a couple of pdfs and it worked okay.
It is obvious that Amazon is getting very serious about the Mobipocket software. Question is when will they start offering Mobipocket books and is this upgraded desktop reader really being released to go along with the Amazon Kindle?
