This seems to have started yesterday, and has gotten alot worse sense then.
My T|X seems to freeze when ever a program is required to start a wifi connection. specifically Snappermail, but after that any use of wifi will cause it to freeze, including the preference panel, or event he connect command.
any help would be appreciated.

Do you happen to have any clocking software installed? WarpSpeed or PXAClocker might be the culprit. Otherwise, I suspect that one of your WiFi libraries has become corrupted, and you should back up, perform a hard reset, and install as much of your software as you can from scratch.

Sounds like a corrupt wifislip or wifi lib file. Have you tried doing a selective restore from a backup (selecting your wifi files)? Note that older versions of BackupMan (read 1.x) had a lot of problems with wifi files. So don't try using a backup from that. Worse case scenario: do a complete backup, then do a hard reset, then do a selective restore of everything but the wifi files (anything that starts with wifi except programs you put on there like wifile or wiffi). I had a similar problem to yours and this worked for me.

On another note, or not, I suggest the backup solution made for the TX NVBackup. It is free and so good that RBackup has already incorporated some of it's code. :)

I hadn't thought of clocking software ... But even so, I wouldn't go so far as to start installing from scratch - unless you like doing that kinda of thing. Read my other post.

I don't use over clocking software, and I have already tried the selective restore with no success. I had pretty much decieded to hard reset, when I got a message from wifile lite saying I had a net2wroking errror occured, netlib failed to load. and that my device may not support networking. then user canceled operation, (0x121F). I am well into the reinstalling of programs now.

Hmmmm.... I wonder if perhaps the Palm WiFi Security Update might be able to fix your issue. Basically it's a ROM flash. Even if you don't use the security update itself, it might work to restore whatever files might have been corrupted. I hate to suggest this now since you've already hard reset and restored and this ROM flash also requires a hard reset...

Another thought is do you have an older copy of a known stable backup. I always keep at least one backup set of a time when I know my PDA was really stable. Sometimes things go bad and I might not notice for a few days - by then all of my backups have been cycled through and overwritten. If you have a older copy you might try and restore from that instead of your recent ones.

Good Luck!!
