View Full Version : NZ and external keyboard... not good

I just read through the Brighthand review of the new NZ model, and realized a moment ago that the only way you will ever get a separate, full size keyboard (like the Stowaway) for it is if Sony designs and releases it by itself... the HotSync port is on the back of the NZ, rather than on the bottom like all other devices created so far. It's even up towards the top of the back, near the bump for the camera, according to the review. That means that any of the usual keyboards that have been released just plain won't work at all with this model, even if it happens to still use the T-series connector type. I'm sure some kind of adapter could be created if needed, but I really doubt that the NZ will have an external keyboard of the quality of the Stowaways anytime soon... that, in itself, is yet another reason that I will never buy an NZ.

I'm still waiting for a version of the new Stowaway XT to be released for my T665C, but at least I can always get a regular Stowaway in the mean time... the NZ just seems completely out of luck though. They probably have plans for a Bluetooth keyboard of some kind, but who knows what kind of quality it will be.

Cheers.

The Nx has the port on the bottom and IT doesn't have a keyboard to use yet. No word on when or if it ever will

Give word! ;-) The OS5 drivers for the Belkin G700 keyboard are days away from being operational.
