I have a Nokia 3650 that I am using for a few weeks while my T68i is off on a business trip. I have been trying to get the 3650 to go on line (ATT wireless GPRS) and have been unsuccessful with both my NZ90 and my Mac G4 laptop. I can make it go on line with a PC so I know it works.
I know there was a thread on this suggesting one use the phone driver for the Nokia 6310 but the link to palm Europe in the thread is not good any longer. So... has anyone had any success going online with ATT via Bluetooth, a NZ90 and a 3650 Nokia??? If so where did you get the driver or what did you do. Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Richard Lubash

I've had the same problem with a Nokia 7650. Works on my laptop, but not the Clié.
I've had a look at some of the other Palm phone drivers to see if I could binary-edit them, but it's beyond my current level of Palm/Clié knowledge. What I can tell you is that the drivers check what phone you're talking to, and won't talk to any other model of phone than the one specified. The exception is the generic driver, but I can't get that to work with the 7650 at all, and so far I can't see why. Both devices work through Bluetooth or IR with my laptop... but not each other.
If anyone has a Clie working with a 3650 or 7650, whether via IR or (preferably) Bluetooth, I'd be most keen to hear how they've done it! I've seen some posts from people who say it works, but they've never come back and confirmed, or said how.

Nokia uses the digianswer protocol for bluetooth comunication. Go to their web site under data suite 4.88 to see a list of compatable usb adaptors. As for the clie i dont think anything can be done about it. I had the same problem with my 8910 so i got a t68i .... works like a breeze.

My Nokia 3650 works fine with NZ90 Bluetooth. I used the generic gsm phone driver that's on Sony's support page. Then defined a connection and did the bluetooth pairing.

Mine connected with my 7650 works fine using generic gsm phone driver. However the only problem is that whenever I do the send & check (SMS) the Clie could not detect the inbox msg from my phone. No problem sending SMS though. Is there a way I can solve the problem?

Interesting... Can you tell me what version of firmware your phone is using, please? I can connect with infra-red now, but whenever I use Bluetooth and try to transfer data, the it just disconnects. I can send SMS, but not send/check mail or surf.

I think this may be because of the 7650's advanced features such as multiple inboxes, but this is just a guess. I had the same problem using PhoneMan on my old Psion Series 5, until the software was specially modified for that capability.

I think both the 3650 and the 7650 both use a symbian os which is more compatible with BT devices. Nokia themselves could not give me an answer with the 8910. They just said it was not compatible.

I'm using Nokia fw 2.41 for the 3650.

All is fine and dandy with the NZ90, the source of frustration is still the SMS function via Bluetooth to the Nokia 8910i. There must be a solution out there! It can send SMS fine, but it can't received. BUT it works with infrared...fully.... Maybe Sony don't like the Nokia :)
The Dialer function works great though....

Any idea where I can a get the driver for my NZ90 to work with my Sony Ericsson P800? The generic driver won't work and the other drivers listed are only for older phones like the t68i. It pairs and connects to the P800 but says it will only send sms, connect to the internet etc. if I have the specific p800 driver, which the NZ90 tells me after running its phone test is: Sony Ericsson 7130501-BVP800 whatever that means. Any ideas?

Guess what, I've recently did a clean install with the phone drivers, and my NZ90/G works GREAT with the 8910i on the SMS functions. Everything works. You can try this site:
http://www.css.ap.sony.com for downloads.

Can you sync the 8910 with the nz? Or transfer contacts?

jettie1767,
What service are you using? And... where did you get your setup information. I'm trying to connect to ATT and using the generic driver but I must have something set wrong. Any help would be appreciated.

Richard,
I'm using T-mobile. I had to call their tech support group and ask for the script to use.

Hi Warren,
That explains' it. I've heard that T Mobile works with Nokia Bluetooth phones but not with ATT. At least I can get it to work with IR. Thanks for the Quick reply.

Yeah, the script is pretty specific to T-mobile. Hopefully, ATT will be as helpful ast T-mobile in providing their customers that correct script to enable bluetooth connectivity.

HI iClie,
So u say the 8910i works flawlessly with the NZ90 SMS? Can I confirm that you can send AND receive SMS from your 8910i via bluetooth without any problems?
I'm really keen on buying the 8910i and the only thing holding me back is not knowing whether I can get Bluetooth SMS to work with 8910i and NZ ... thanks !!!
Cheers

HI iClie,
I also need to confirm that you can receive SMS from your 8910i via bluetooth, how?
I got a 3650 (FW2.5) works fine using generic gsm phone driver. No problem sending SMS though. However the only problem is that whenever I do the send & check SMS the Clie could not detect the inbox msg from my phone. Is there a way I can solve the problem?

I today successfully connected my nz90 using bluetooth to an 6310 with old firmware 4.40. I did HSCSD dial-up connection of about 40 kbps download. I tested netfront and sent email.
I remarked that on each bluetooth-connection i had to confirm manually the connection on the phone. I this generally on nokia phone's ( I dont have to do that on my ericsson t68) ? Is there a solution of not doing that?

After a couple of months of regular use. The clie works flawlessly with the Nokia8910i via bluetooth. Sending and receiving sms is not a problem.
As a good test, make sure your phone's inbox and sent items are empty.
Then give the Send and Receive a try.
All should work well.

Was reading up on the this thread and a few others. Was just wondering seems that bluetooth has caught on in the states. About how many percent of people use it?
