Yeah, my understanding is that's a no. Asked the question in an earlier thread, that's the response I got.

Ya I did. All ya get is a "you need to run os5" screen.

I sometimes wonder whether it is worth upgrading to an NX, would be nice having access to big memory sticks, a fast processor and support for Flash. But at the end of the day do we really need the extra functionality offered by the NX or is it worth waiting a year or so until something much better comes along.

My NR still does pretty much everything I need it to. Even if it isn't quite so flash or pretty!

Sony is going to have to make a Clie to compete with the Tungsten C. I'm sure whatever they come up with will make the switch from the NR worthwhile.

See....no that's how I thought. The Palm Vx does everything I need.......that is until I bought a NR70/v. Now with the MP3, Camara...etc the NR does just what I need.

I'm sure if I bought the NX, it will be just what I need too. I will wait for the new Clie though as I feel sure it is only a matter of weeks before Sony announce the new model that will be equally as good as the TC....then that too will be pretty much everything I need it to.

Then 2 or 3 months from the launch of the new model Sony will launch yet another new model which will then be pretty much everything you need as well.

Sounds like you would need pretty deep pockets in order to ensure you have a PDA that is everything you need :)

that was what happened when the nr came out, it seems like it had set the standard for pdas, the ultimate pda, but.... we know the rest of the story! :)

If you can wait, wait for OS6 as it should arrive within half a year. You will get much better memory managment and as a result, much better software

I think you are right. Probably best waiting until something comes along that really is a significant upgrade from the NR70V.

My last upgrade (Palm m100 -> NR70V) gave me a much better PDA, I just hope that my next will be a comparable increase in performance/functionality.

I have to agree with the "Wait and see" attitude. While I wouldn't mind more power and built-in wireless, I don't really need those things right now. I pretty much use my NR70V as a basic contact manager and email client. Anything more complex, and I go to my PC. While the NX series does interest me, I cannot justify spending that much money for many features I will probably never use. The memory upgrade would be nice, but I still have 10MB free on my NR and 25MB free on the 64MB memory stick. I hope Sony considers using the NR70 form factor for more than just their high end models. Everyone who has seen the screen of my NR70 loves it, but many shy away from the pricetag. I think a more basic model with the killer large screen would be a big seller.

Yeah, I think you are right. To be honest if Sony had done a non clamshell pda without the digital camera but with the large screen for less money I would probably have got it.

It was purely the large screen that made me choose the NR70V. It's a shame that the standard apps that came with the NR70V didn't take full advantage of the extra screen real-estate :(

Yeah - I bought my NR70v almost a year ago. I love it, and see nothing in the newer Clies to make me go out and spend wads of money...yet. I'll be waiting for built in WiFi and bluetooth, VG and more internal memory.

I play movies, games, mp3's, read ebooks, manage my schedule, even check e-mail, chat and surf briefly (with my BT MS and T68i). It's just about perfect, oerfect enough for me to wait for something really signifigant to come out....
