Thank you! As I said in the podcast, this isn't just about you the 1SRC members, or me the host. It's about all of us that make up the 1SRC community.

Yes, I have enjoyed the 1src podcasts and found them very informative. Just last week I d/l'd the podcast #4 because I wanted to hear about Life Balance, so I'm glad that they are all online and available.
Thanks 1src for ALL you do! :D

I've been listening to the 1src podcast from episode 1, it's by far my favorite podcast. I'm looking very forward to the new daylight savings date change next year:) It gets depressing when it starts to get dark earlier. I just hope my Treo will be patched by then.

Congrats, 1src! 100 podcasts and counting! Quite a milestone! And, thanks to stroll down memory lane, I now know why "Palm OS for Linux" has been "in the labs" for so long...they're still trying to come up with a better name for it!
Continued success on bringing the latest news about the greatest handheld platforms!

Alan:
The daylight savings time changes outlined in the "Energy Policy Act of 2005" isn't really a sinister plan from dark forces. Someone showed the administration some numbers indicating extending DST 2 weeks would save some energy, the administration put it in the legislation, and no one in Congress really cared either way. Voting for the bill allowed all the politicians to look like they were "pro-energy conservation."

So the new DST is the 2nd Sun in March, and the new ST is the 1st Sun in November as of 2007?

Tell that to the school kids I pass on the way to work who are standing at the bus stop in the dark. :)

LanMan, SUN Microsystems posted a nice, understandable write up about this in their Java developer notes, which can be found here (http://java.sun.com/developer/technicalArticles/Intl/USDST/).

Congratulation to Alan and the entire 1src team for making this the number 1 site for Palm OS and the Number 1 podcast for Palm Devices. Hope for more very interesting podcast in the future.

Alan, congrats on your 100th Podcast you should be very proud. Thanks so much for taking the time (I know it's a lot) to make such a dynamic impact in the Palm comunity.
It's a pleasure to listen to you every week (while I mow the yard). <Raising his wine glass filled with Diet Coke, Scoob says....>
Here's to the next 100 shows. Cheers!

Kind of a short show. . . Anyways, you gotta get Jeff back on, Alan. Or if you're busy, you should let Jeff do an entire show and see if he can go into rant/annihilation mode again. :D

Edited to add:
Thanks for not having the contest as the "How Palm saved my life." My entry wasn't good last time ;-)

Thanks LegoDude. Seriously, the "How my Palm saved my life" thing was over done with all the LifeDrive/Treo 650 BTE/Snakes on a Plane contests. Reggie wants something different.

What do you mean not in the Palm Camp? He still uses a Treo, right?

Congratulations for ringing in the 100th podcast! I've enjoyed them all and look forward to future 'casts. I have sampled several other palm-related podcasts and the 1src cast is one that I never miss. Great work Alaln (and his precursor Jeff for laying the foundation).

Ya, um, Jeff doesn't use a Treo any more. He's got a Sprint PPC-6700. At the office in which he works they use Treo 650s, but that's it.

Oh I guess I misunderstood. I thought the 100th would have been the one with all the recordings, although it would be long. That's cool. LOL.

What no linux praise? I guess the Linux fan club is bored about palm these days and the average windows user like me is afraid to encourage linux usage. Nowadays some of the video folks may be moving to HDTV and a handheld without it is useless.
Batteries are still a weakpoint with handhelds, kudos to the new treos with removeable batteries. Maybe we will see a handheld with the ability to change batteries like the portable hand tools that constructionmen use.

Palm has no interest in Linux. Jeff Hawkins said it himself. ALP seems to be doing good as a cell phone platform.

I know that you've been off having fun with your Zaurus, but times, they are a changin'. It is widely expected that Palm will begin using either a modified version of ACCESS' ALP (ACCESS Linux Platform) or a Linux-based OS of their own design (which I've often referred to as 'Palm OS II'). ALP is expected to be delivered to licensees in early 2007. At this point it is still unknown how or when a new handheld OS will be rolled out.

Good God, man! There are 100 episodes! Actually, I started working on that idea a few months ago, but it required that I re-listen to each and every podcast. I might go back into the archives and pull out some of the shows that we did together and take a closer look...

It takes a different kind of geek to listen to all of the 1SRC podcasts in the space of a month or two, let along a week. :)
That said, there is a Kirvin rant that I want to revisit and I can't find it, so I may be listening to a dozen or so shows until I find it.
