Has anyone got google map working on the VZ90?
http://www.google.com/gmm/index.html
Every time i try to run it i get the following error
palmgstring.cpp:217
error == errNone
I tried even doing a hard reset and install it from there but no luck.
Any one else have better luck?

It's not even designed for the Clie, I bet they couldn't care less if it's working on a rare-Japanese one... :(
Hi. :)
It is a patch that uses GoogleMaps with Clie Japanese version.
GoogleMaps.prc ver1.1.1
33B2A:6604 -> 4E71
Please look at my homepage.
Sorry Japanese only.

Hi, mini, thanks a lot, Arigatou gozaimasu~ m(_ _)m
I read your site, yet don't know what is the "proper binary editor" mentioned there?
By the way, do you also read SPA san's So-Mo blog? :)

OK, got it done with HexEdit ( http://hexedit.sourceforge.net/ ) for Mac, and it worked!!!
Here's a screenshot:

This is so cool~
What a shame the maps of Taiwan are all empty (showing only white space), but, well, I'll be moving the the states soon, so, I'm keeping the app :D

Hmm? I wonder what kurie means?

That [kurie] thingy is actually, "Clie", sounds similar, right? :D
And the "love house" thingy in the 4th line is actually "lover", thus the whole line means: "For every Clie lover..."
Exactly, "Kulie" is a meaning of "Clie".
And, "love house" is a meaning of "For every Clie lover...".
You are great translator.
This patch is popular among the Clie users in Japan.
Please enjoy GoogleMaps with VZ90.
Thanks.

Thanks, I guess one year of college Japanese course does pay off, and besides, I can read the kanji as Chinese characters :)
Actually, I'm using it on my Japanese TH55 (I really like ATOK and Decuma Japanese, so I got a Japanese model), since the Google Maps error is a problem with the Japanese OS, not the VZ it self.
I'm curious how you found that fix though, I don't even understand a bit of all that hex code...

hot dog!
mini さん ども ありがとう ございます!
Awesome app! Blazingly fast and efficent! Did it have some specific device ID value or something that prevented it from running on CLIE?
Windows users can try http://www.physics.ohio-state.edu/~prewett/hexedit/ to do a quick change to the hex values in the PRC.

I think that GoogleMaps doesn't check device ID.
There was a problem because it was a Clie Japanese version.
A patched GoogleMaps works well by the Japanese version Clie of VZ90, TH55, UX50, and NX.
I'm impressed that you can write the hiragana. :) Good!

You are also good at Japanese. :)
Of course, the map of France can be seen with GoogleMaps.
You might have been surprised because there were a lot of travelers in Kyoto.
Please go sightseeing in Osaka, Nara, and Kobe when you will come to
Japan next time.

Thanks for the comment, I understood it, with a few lookups on my TH55's dictionary :P
By the way, as you mentioned Osaka, Nara, I just went there this winter. I like the dear in Nara park :) It's a shame that my TH's camera died on a rainy day in Kyoto during that trip, though...
