Anyone else effected? (I just learned I was...). How did it go for you? How long did it take to recieve your new battery?
Apple said it would take 4-6 weeks for mine to arrive
I needed a new battery anyway. Mine is over a year old and the battery life is terrible (iStat Pro says the battery health is 30% )
Our 12" Powerbook is among the list. We're already on our 3rd week... and this is from a local Apple distributor so we're expecting a longer wait time.

I wonder what would have happened if I had taken it to an Apple Store. Do you think they would have replaced it immediately?

My wife's PB was affected. In Australia, Apple won't replace the battery directly, only via retail stores <grumble>. What's worse, they were initially instructing users to run down their batteries (3-6 hours), take them out , drive to a store and hand them in, *then* wait 6 weeks for a replacement!! Surprisingly they were getting remarkably few returns...
Anyway, our retailer realised the idiocy of that and allowed us register our battery with them online. When the replacement arrived (2-3 weeks) they rang and told us and we picked it up the next day. Easy, although I still would have preferred the post-paid method of Apple in the US.

We were fortunate in that my wife's iBook G4 was not affected.
By the way, this is the second battery recall that we had to go through on this computer. Does anyone else remember a recall before?
Kory...

Yeah, I do. I wasn't effected on the first one.
