Hi, I got my NX60 off of eBay and it didn't come with the CD and NetFront isn't installed (I think the previous owner JackFlash'd it or something) so I was wondering if anyone knew where I could get a copy of NetFront to install. Or better yet, an image of the CD (if it's not too big)
And while I'm asking for big favors, where could I get a copy of the original ROM because I don't think this is the factory default.
TIA!!!

You can't change the factory ROM, you can add to it, but not change it!

So if I were to do a hard reset, I would have everthing that came with the NX from Sony? I though JackFlash could delete stuff like the address book app and things like that?
Or is there another chip that has an unchangeable master that gets loaded into ROM/RAM after a hard reset? Thanks again?

You can download an image copy of Nx70v/Nx60 CD off my FTP, someone from this forum uploaded to me yesterday, just copy and paste the link in your broswer ftp://nx70v:nx70v@12.212.59.188

JackFlash does not delete apps just adds to the ROM.

Hello,
now i'm getting confused...
I'm new to this PalmOS/Clié world...so I barely understand the concept of ROM, RAM, Flash when applied to handhelds...
I mean:
--Where are applications located ?
--Can there be installed on the CF or MS ?
--What's the purpose of things like Jack-Flash ? Powerrun ?
-- How are "drives" seen ? --> CF and MS seen as two different drives (like c:\ and d:\ ... uh you know what I mean...) ?
I'm about to buy a NX70... but am still thinking... so I'd to collect as many pieces of information as I can beforehand...
thanks

Alright, one @ a time...
>Hello,
Hi.

don't be.
>I'm new to this PalmOS/Clié world...so I >barely understand the concept of ROM, >RAM, Flash when applied to handhelds...
We all were once.
I mean:
--Where are applications located ?
Apps are located in either Internal RAM (11MB's) or on a Memory Stick, in a folder called Palm/Launcher/
Files for Applications are also stored there, or in a folder called Palm/Programs/Program name*/
>Can there be installed on the CF or MS ?
Mostly yes.
>What's the purpose of things like Jack-Flash ? Powerrun ?
JackFlash will let you write and delete from the "hidden" 5MB's that Sony takes from the internal Memory. Power run lets you use apps on the MS or CF as if they are in internal RAM.
>How are "drives" seen ? --> CF and MS >seen as two different drives (like c:\ and >d:\ ... uh you know what I mean...) ?
Not reallybut , using Clie File(a viewer) you can see the Internal RAM and MS card seperatly, and move files between them. There really isn't a C: D: structure to it, but I guess you could call it that.

At the new lower prices, I would suggest getting one, and I don't think you will be sorry. That or wait a few weeks, and pay more for the new models. Whatever they are.
>thanks
No prob
