I CANNOT GET THE MP3 PLAYER TO RECOGNIZE MP3S THAT I PUT ON MY CF CARD. I am manually installing the mp3s and putting them in the MSAUDIO file. Should I be syncing the Mp3s instead? what am I doing wrong here?

Are you placing them in the correct folder?
/Palm/Programs/MSAUDIO ???

You have selected MS Masquerade?
It's worked for me...

*This is assuming that the mp3's are a recognized format by the audio player...

I'm having the same exact problem. My mp3 file is in the correct directory and my Audio Player keeps coming back with "No Music Tracks". I went in to Clie Files to verify mp3 file's location....any ideas?

I think I figured it out. I'm using a Sandisk 512, and even though you don't have to select "slow mode/mount" for this card, I tried it. The files showed up. Then I unselected the option and the player still recognized them. Maybe a hiccup. So far I don't like the fact that you have to actually remove your MS in order to use the CF. Hopefully the future upgrades will address this.

You don't have to physically remove the MS. Secondly, the application has to have multi-VFS support, not the driver! Blame Sony, EruWare was able to come up with a scheme to fool the app and the clie into looking at the CF slot.

I tried with several CF Cards, and I just have to use "Ms masquering" to hide the MS slot, so the CF card is recognized as the MS...

Then l launched the Audio Player and it seemed happy like that ;)
Audio player doesn't support multi volumes so you got to "hide" the MS Slot...

After selecting 'MS Masquerading', did you mount the card again?

In fact you got to respect a "protocol":

0°) Launch Cf utility
1°) if a CF card is mounted, unmount it
2°) put a MS in the MS slot if not done (yeah I know it's weird, but the soft requires it)
3°) click on "Ms Masquering"
4°) acknowledge the popup telling you that the MS will diseappear until the next soft reset
5°) the MS slot is now hidden, you can take away the MS (not necessary)
6°) mount the CF card
7°) launch Audio Player and enjoy :)

Wouldn´t a tiny tool be of good help, that does all this? A little App that "switches" from MS to CF would be a good expansion of the CF Driver (which is a great thing indeed) to overcome the problems with all that software without multicard support.
Just an Idea...

Ask the developper for a "batch" command :)

I'd rather just install (through zlauncher) a third-party mp3 player that can recognize multiple cards. That way the Sony audio player can be sent packin'... of course it eats up ram but oh well....

It doesn't, but it would be nice. I would like to see a company make an MP3 Player that would work on our devices. Hey Eruware need an idea for your next product.

Um,guys, Eruware dissolved a long time ago. The guy that wrote that driver, ayasin, wrote CF Magic (check it out on Palmgear or Handango). It is a driver written for the older clies. As far as I know he isn't going to do the same for the newer (now fast becoming dinosaur in the other than Japan countries) clies though. You can read about it more at www.pdascent.com/forums so that is a quick catchup for those just new to this. :)
