this thread is to share speeds of applications and performance of the CF driver and CF cards..
rather than getting hung up on vfsmark or other programs, what is really important is how fast a real application runs...
backups on my nz were running 2.5 minutes on a normal ms, they dropped to 1.5 minutes on a ms pro w256k.
i just backed up to my hours old sandisk 1 gig cf, 40 seconds!!!
that sure was worth $27 bucks!

But could you throw in a VFSMark just as a reference. Usually the perceived speeds can be deduced from the VFSMarks.
Personally I don't care too much for write speeds. Read operations is what I use a lot more of. MSPro is lightning fast at those.

greg...are you having any trouble playing videos off of your Sandisk 1Gb. I cant play the majority of my movies off of mine. Can't figure out why.

I've only put one video on my Sandisk 1GB CF, but it runs flawlessly. The problem comes when I get out of the player. Then I crash and have to reset.

I, and I would imagine others, are interested in write speeds. As others have mentioned in other posts, when I buy the next CF item it will most likely be dual purpose, for the NX and for my digital camera. So if you post, make sure you include write speeds!

Alistar, thanks for the VFSMarks.
If I read those VFSMArks right (a total number can obscure some details) the MSPro is actually a lot faster than those tested CF cards. I'll stick with MS Pro then.

On my Clie NX 60 I transfered about 105mb from 128MB MS in 23 mintues to 1GB Sandisk CF. Consisted of about 50 2mb files. I used FileZ as app to transfer this and had the brightness turned all the way down. The good thing is over this time battery only dropped from 97% to 89%. If this is typical I can fill up entire 1GB card on one charge, alhtough I did just buy the aa external battery pack anyway.
I have a Sony F717 digital camera and 6 128MB sticks, my goal is to use the Cliea for extra storage on the road as I did not trust Hard Drive based systems, except for in my laptop.
For home I got a FW CF reader.
