You can't upgrade to OS 5 as it relys on the Clié having an ARM processor, the SJ-20 (and most others) don't.

Sorry

Newer isn't basically better. What matters is how you utilize those new features.

I have an SJ33, and I heard that OS 4.1.2 (or something similar to that release version) may be coming out. Is it possible to upgrade to that or is OS 4.1 built in the ROM to where it can't be upgraded even if the processor is capable of it? Thanks for you help.

You should be able to upgrade to 4.1.2 on a 4.x machine (I haven't viewed release notes for 4.1.2 yet) but it would require flashing the ROM, which is a hairy procedure to say the least!

Unless you are comfortable flashing ROM's (I'm not), I would suggest not upgrading. If you do it wrong, you will effectively destroy your clié
