Hi all,

I have been hot-syncing my TH55 for a while between my home desktop pc, home laptop and work laptop. I will make entries to the TH55 handheld and all the machines. The 1st hot-sync with any machine will always takes longer with a hot sync log message at the end which says some of the records are not sync. All I needed to do was to perform a 2nd hot-sync and it will go through quickly and all data will be in sync. Subsequent hot-sync with the same machine will be very quick. When I try to hot-sync with a new machine, the same process happens again.

Everything was fine until last week when I had a major problem with TH55, see here (http://www.1src.com/forums/showthread.php?t=118019) . This makes me think that maybe my data files were somehow corrupted as I perform these hot-sync process with multiple machines. ??

Does anyone has any good/bad experiences with regards to hot-syncing a TH55 (or any Palm OS PDA) on multiple machine to share?

Thank you!

mm

I've synced my TH55 with work/home PCs for 2+ years, ever since the TH55 came out. I've never had an unresolvable problem, especially with the address/calendar stuff. I use PocketMirror.

I've had lots of problems with third party programs, but usually nothing that couldn't be managed. Docs to Go is the worst; it has claimed for many years to sync to multiple PCs, but it constantly duplicates, and sometimes deletes, my files. I've had to deinstall it from the work PC and just sync it with home. Wordsmith does better, but it is completely obsolete and unmaintained.

(I just bought Docs to go 8, but I haven't been bold enough to try it on two PC's yet.)

I'm glad I haven't had any nightmares yet like you've gone through. But I never went to THREE computers!

I sync between two computers (my home and my work). I have done this successfully for many years through several Palm OS devices. I sync with the Palm Desktop at home and with MS Outlook using PocketMirror at work.

I have worked on a staff member's palm using the built in sync software that wasn't working. I ended up installing PocketMirrow to resolve the issue.

I need to clarify - thought I am sync-ing the TH55 with more than 1 machine, I am sync-ing it with the original Palm Desktop, not Outlook. So I do not need Pocket Mirror.

Looks like there should be no trouble hot sync-ing with more than 1 PC. I wonder why I am having those issues than...???

Thanks!
