Hi all,

I just switched from the LD to the T/X and noticed that the ptunes has a "15 day free trial" message that I don't remember getting with the LD. Is there a free version that comes bundled with the T/X that I would be downgraded to after the 15 day trial, or am I forced to purchase ptunes if I want to use that as a music player. Along the same lines, any good free music players out there?

ThanksI don't recall having that problem. It complained that I needed to register it at the ptunes website (I can't remember what that is right now) in order to turn on a bonus feature. I purchased my TX in the town my mom lives during my vacation and when I returned home two weeks later where I have Internet access (my mom is 82 and has no need for the Internet) I signed into their website and got the code. Pretty simple if you ask me.

IIRC 15 day free trial refers to the pTunes Deluxe version... after the 15 days is up you'll just get the Basic version which is free. Check out the pTunes website for the differences between the two. http://www.pocket-tunes.com/

Otherwise Aeroplayer is free for their .ogg codec but you have to buy the mp3 codec. Pocket Tunes is just the opposite - the mp3 codec is free and you have to pay for the ogg codec. Both make you pay for AAC.

i thought pTunes didnt support AAC... where do i download the codec? I havent updated to the lastest version cuz i got a Rom error and couldnt install the program. When i purchased pTunes i received 4 codecs but not the AAC...

The only player featuring (background) playback of AAC files is AeroPlayer.

Sorry my bad... :o You are correct - I only purchased the basic version so that I could have .ogg codec. I was using AeroPlayer which has a free ogg codec but Pocket Tunes skips less when playing in the background whilst I'm using Blazer. Thanks for the correction :)
