Hey Everyone!
I got my CF driver today and I'm really excited! I was wondering if anyone knew how to watch mpeg movies from the CF card. I can listen to MP3s using the audio player, but not too sure how to watch the movies. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

Put your CF card in a CF reader on your computer. Then use Image Converter to convert your movie files. Choose the CF drive letter as the destination. It will give you a warning that it's not a Memory Stick, but tell it to go on anyways. Then movieplayer will see the movie files. Nice isn't it?

My experience with Image Converter (at least with *.mpg files) is to select Long Play mode (as opposed to High Quality and Standard).
This has produced a MUCH smaller *.MQV file and smoother play for me.
OBTW, you can also DEFRAG the CF if necessary, just as you would with any FD or HD.
As always, YMMV, just thought I'd throw this out.

Duplicate the folders on the CF as they are on the MS.
Then use MS Masquerade to hide the memory stick.

Thanks for the quick reply! Works, but I don't know if any of you have experienced the screen freezing up. I noticed that it happens when I try to move the viewer bar to fast forward and then it freezes up. Has anyone's machine frozen up?
Thanks!

That happens to me sometimes also when I try to move the viewer bar also, best thing to do is let it catch up. I'm sure this will be sorted out with updates.

You can avoid this warning by creating an empty file in the top-level directory on the CF card called MEMSTICK.IND. It's marked hidden and readonly. I simply copied my memory stick over (XCOPY/S/E/H/K) and it got copied along. Image Converter seems to be happy thinking it's a memory stick.
Unfortunately for me, though, I cannot play any movies. When I try to start a movie, the Clié hangs requiring a soft reset.

When I used long play mode the images were noticibly choppier than high quality mide, but the tradeoff was I was able to fit a whole movie on my 128mg mem stick as opposed to 30 minutes in high qualithy mode. I wont have that problem soon when I buy my CF driver.
By the way, has anyone had problems watching movies on their CF card. Eruware says there may be some issues regarding movie player.
