0 comments on the podcast. Sad.

Looks like you guys are going to miss me now that I am actively migrating all my data and programs over to my new HP rx1950.

Could it be that Treo people are not forum visiting kind of users and now that Palm has backstabbed and pushed away handheld consumers, the Palm OS community will disappear? I think so because the 1src.com podcast is a very good show and there is no reason for people not to listen, other than of course all the users have abandoned Palm OS.

When the silence of users happens, you know a company is finished.

Alan, you might want to start looking into making a WM podcast.

Treo users have 1 design, and trust me, they will dump Palm Inc if they can save 10$ with a Nokia phone. The best thing Palm has going for it is carrier contracts that FORCE users to stay for 1, 2 or 3 years.

Shame that even 1src.com has slowly moved over to talking about mainly Treos. But I commend 1src.com for sticking to Palm OS. Over at PIC they mostly talk about WM Treos now.

By the way Alan,

Following your recommendation, I looked into the new HP Travel companion device. It looks interesting, but I don't think its for me. I did however notice that HP is now using a TRANSMISSIVE instead of a TRANSFLECTIVE screen.

It does not offer the wide viewing angles of OLED but the brightness is increased, the screen is thinner and the battery use is lower. Its a step in the right direction. HP seems to listen a bit more to its users than Palm.

Palm OS Cobalt on a new handheld with an OLED screen and I will be back, else Ariva Derchi.

I think that we are starting too see developers holding off starting new development projects until the new OS is named/launched. A good example of this might be the revelation that Sling has the Palm logo on their boxes and are covering them with black stickers.

You can look at this two ways: The Palm logo is there because of support of the WM Treos; or the logo is there because a new client is under development. I'm a "glass-half-full" kind of guy, so I'm going with new development. At this point, ALP is coming along well, and unless there are some serious problems detected between now and the end of the year, I'd expect ACCESS/PalmSource to deliver ALP to their licensees on time for the end of year or early Q1 2007.
