View Full Version : Using SMS and Contacts app on LD

Hi all! I'm a new member here and just got my LD 1 week back. I love my LD but admit that it's very unstable and give me crashes atleast once each day. This is actually my first palm and i've been readying up many forums to learn more about palm.

There's this SMS and Contacts app by default in my LD. I found that I can't associate this 2 app together. I can "Send and Check" to retrieve my SMS messages from my phone to my palm but I can only see their phone numbers but not their name. I have transfered the whole of my phonebook from my Sony Ericson phone to my palm. Is there anyway the palm can relate the numbers to the names in the Contacts app?

Another problem I noticed is that I can't assign SMS app as the default SMS program in the Contacts. It's in the Contact Settings:

- Click on any names in your list
- Go to menu and click connect
- Settings

Here you can see the default apps. My settings is:

Dial: Phone Dialer
SMS : None
Email: VersaMail
IM: None
Map: None

Is it possibl to set SMS app to my SMS? When I tried to pull down, the SMS app wasn't displayed.

You are right, I can't seem to find any way to fix it either, I am curious though what model of phone do you have that the SMS program actually works with the LifeDrive?

I'm using Sony Ericson T610. Pairing this 2 devices allow me to me to send SMSes through BT. BT takes much battery of my LD so I didn't really use that much. I only use it to archive my phone inbox.

You should be glad your SMS prog works at all with your phone. It doesn't work with most phones at all, like my RAZR V3c

Try downloading the phone update app from palm's website. IT works fine with my V3 Razr. SMS and dialer.
